Hmm.  I thought Terrance Howard did a good job.  I like Don Cheadle, though.  Hopefully, the casting change won't bother me too much.

I had only very, VERY passing familiarity with Iron Man before I went to see the movie (I saw the cartoon once or twice), so the whole "War Machine" thing didn't really register for me until he said the "Next time," line and I was like "Oh, yeah...that's right."

Despite the fact that I didn't know much about the character, I still came in with high expectations because the idea of Iron Man is awesome.  I'll probably get the DVD sometime soon.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

I like Terrance Howard a lot and I think he did a great job in Iron Man, but his voice is just so high it's very distracted.  His voice as War Machine would probably be as bad as Julian McMahon's in Fantastic Four.  Yeah.  I went there.

Never head of "war machine" before, but I guess we will get two iron men!

Don Cheadle is a great actor and this can only make the sequel better.

No, they should replace her with Maria Bello and have her stay at my house until filming begins........

I'm sorry, PSL; I just had the image of Bill Kurtis reading your last message on a future episode of American Justice on A&E.

It's a shame about recasting Rhodes. I really liked Howard, and appreciated a good actor given a chance with a meatier role and the possibility of a costarring role in the future. That being said, yes he did sound gay in a few scenes, especially the his first scene at the awards ceremony.

I do really like Don Cheadle, and at least they are replacing one good actor with another. But this whole situation stinks, and I think as good as Cheadle will do with the role, the change in actors will look negatively towards him.

BathTub

It maybe just me, but I get the impression that Cheadle is a fairly lightly built guy, maybe it's just the way he's been cast, like Hotel Rwanda and stuff.

Tripe

He is kind of slight, look at him in Devil in a blue dress.

Doctor Who?

Maybe he will bulk up like Bale did for Batman.

Am I the only one thinks it's a crime that we had Shield in the last movie but not Nick Furry?

I hope he turns up in the next one.

Here's hope IM2 is as good as SM2 or TDK.

He was.  He shows up in the end credits.  It's Ultimate Nick Fury, so naturally, he's played by Samuel L. Mothafuckin' Jackson.

Here are a couple of images of Rhodes:

Here's the official Bio

So he might need to bulk a little but actually I don't think all that much really.
