This is the place to talk movies, riffs, and the joys of terrible cinema with other fans. To keep it fun for everyone, registering means you agree to the following.
Be decent.
Riff the movies, not each other. Don't post anything abusive, harassing, hateful, threatening, obscene, or sexually explicit, and don't share anyone's private information. Keep it in the spirit of the show: funny, a little weird, and never mean-spirited toward real people here.
No spam, no scams.
Advertising, link-dropping, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations will be removed and the account banned.
Respect copyright.
Don't post pirated movies, riffs, or other material you don't have the right to share. That includes links to it.
Your posts are yours, and your responsibility.
You are responsible for what you post. Posts are the views of their authors, not of RiffTrax. We don't review every message before it appears, so if you see something that breaks these rules, report it to a moderator.
Moderators have the final say.
The staff may edit, move, or remove any post or profile content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or ban accounts, with or without notice. Removing content is a manual process, so it may not happen immediately.
One person, one account.
Pick a username that keeps things appropriate. Don't share your password with anyone, and don't use anyone else's account. Use a strong password you don't use on other sites.
Your information.

Who else handles your information
Images that members post from other websites (Imgur and so on) load from those sites, which can see your IP address. Older non-secure (http) images are loaded through our server instead. YouTube videos in posts load from youtube-nocookie.com: YouTube sees your IP address when a page with a video loads, and sets its cookies only if you press play. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone beyond the services listed here, except as the law requires.
Email
We email you about your account, and about topics and personal messages only if you've turned those notifications on. You can change notification settings in your profile at any time.
How long we keep it
Posts and accounts stay until they are removed. We may delete accounts that have been inactive for many years and have no posts. Server logs with IP addresses are kept only as long as needed for security.
Your choices
You can view and edit your profile at any time, and change what other members can see. To get a copy of your data or have your account deleted, contact support@rifftrax.com. When an account is deleted, its posts may stay on the forum under a guest name, so that conversations still make sense.
Children
The forum is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll post a notice on the forum.

This policy covers forum.rifftrax.com. It explains what we collect when you use the forum, why, and who else handles it.
What we collect
- Account details: your username, display name, email address, and password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form).
- Profile information you choose to add: avatar, signature, location, website, birthdate, and similar fields. Anything you put in your public profile is visible to other visitors.
- Your posts and messages: public posts are visible to everyone. Personal messages are visible to you and the people you send them to. Forum administrators can access them when investigating abuse or a legal request.
- Technical information: the IP address you register and post from, your browser type, and the times of your visits. We use it to stop spam, enforce bans, and keep the forum secure.
Cookies
- Login cookie: keeps you signed in. It holds your member number and a scrambled code, never your password.
- Session cookie: remembers you between pages during a visit.
- Light or dark mode: your theme choice is saved in your own browser and is never sent to us.
Who else handles your information
- Mailgun delivers the forum's email (registration, password resets, and notifications you've signed up for).
- Google Fonts serves the forum's typefaces, so your browser contacts Google when pages load.
- Our web host stores the forum and its database.
- Stop Forum Spam (stopforumspam.com) checks the username, email address, and IP address you register with against its list of known spammers. This happens once, when you sign up.
- Google reCAPTCHA shows the "I'm not a robot" check when you sign up, and on your posts until you've made 10. Google sees your IP address and browser details while the check is on the page, under Google's privacy policy.
