QuoteIt was recently announced that Terrence Howard would not be returning for the "Iron Man" sequel. Instead, Marvel has singed on Don Cheadle to step into the Jim Rhodes role. While very few details were revealed as to why the change happened, the announcement hinted that negotiations between Howard and the studio fell through due to Howard's pay raise request.

Now, speaking to NPR [via Chud], Howard reveals that he has never seen a contract and found about the change like everyone else.

"Yeah, I found that out, too," he sighed. "It was the surprise of a lifetime. There was no explanation. [The contract] just... up and vanished. I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren't worth the paper that they're printed on, sometimes. Promises aren't kept, and good faith negotiations aren't always held up."

I'm not sure what to make of this. What could the reason possibly be for Marvel to replace Howard?

Actually, I heard that was just a rumor.  As far as I know, Terrance Howard wasn't even approached.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Maybe he will bulk up like Bale did for Batman.

Am I the only one thinks it's a crime that we had Shield in the last movie but not Nick Furry?

I hope he turns up in the next one.

Here's hope IM2 is as good as SM2 or TDK.

I'm tired of these mothafuckin' nerds not stayin till the end of the mothafukin' credits!

Oh Snap!

My little brother was with me and he needed to go to the bathroom so as soon as the credits started to roll I left.

That's another reason for me to buy the Blu Ray.

I have never read an Iron Man comic I have only seen him guest spots in other comics so I can't say if anyone needs to bulk up it's just someone said that he was a little thin I was just trying to point out that it's not that big of a deal.

Is it just me or is it becoming a trend in superhero movies to cast an average actor in a role in the first movie and then in the second replace them with a really good actor?

I don't see that at all.

Terence Howard is a very good actor, and I don't think they replaced him because he wasn't good in the original.

Ed Norton didn't really replace Eric Bana, as everyone was replaced in that movie,  but Bana's been good in many films, especially his first, Chopper.

Doctor Who?

Well I joking about first we had The Dark Knight doing it and now we have Iron Man 2 doing it.

Yeah but in Batman Begins they made an error and corrected it in the second film.

Iron Man wasn't the case.  I liked Howard a lot in that film.  He was just low-key and likable enough that you can see him tolerating Downey's character with such good humor.

Doctor Who?

Oh I wasn't saying he was bad I liked him too.

I was just saying I don't think he is one of the great actors of our time, but that doesn't make him bad at all.

I just find it funny that we have had to big superhero movies start out with one actor in the role and then replace them with a better one.

I think it's pretty obvious.  They banned baby wipes from the set and Howard just refused to take any part.

Everytime...no matter what is or isn't done?

???

Tripe

While that's odd to an extent, moist tissue is actually a better way to clean up back there.

But you know you can actually get real moist tissue not resort to babywipes.
