Full Sail, where summer is 10 days, and school is 2 years

Full Sail? You go to sailing school?

I didn't know what it was either. Apparently it's a movie/music school.

yup, and videogame stuff, I think

The Maltese Falcon (1941) [Mr. Baseheart]

Sam Spade is a partner in a private-eye firm who finds himself hounded by police when his partner is killed whilst tailing a man. The girl who asked him to follow the man turns out not to be who she says she is, and is really involved in something to do with the 'Maltese Falcon', a gold-encrusted life-sized statue of a falcon, the only one of its kind.

Earnest Borgnine stars in this murder mystery involving a statue made of gold and jewels, given as tribute to king Henry 5 by the knights Templar, who have been in so many movies lately, that I was shocked when they weren't in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. anyway, starring alongside Ernest is Peter Faulk, the fat guy from Casablanca, and some lady. it is Film Noir, or Black Film, which means everyone calls each other Mac and I can't understand what their saying half the time. all in all, a very enjoyable flick.

I give this film a "Whoa" (4/5)

Dawn of the Dead (2004) [Isaac]

On a day like any other in the middle of the summer a nurse named Ana just wants to spend some time with her husband,Luis. But something goes horribly wrong when Luis is bitten and Ana has to run to keep from dying. She wrecks her car and is saved by a cop named Kenneth. They run into a small group of survivors consisting of Michael a TV salesmen,Andre a common thug, and Luda who happens to be Andre's pregnant wife. But what happens when the dead find the mall and have a craving for possibly the only living people left in the world? All Hell breaks loose.A small group of survivors manages to get into the Mall with the others but some are bitten which starts a controversy.Should they be killed or not?And thats just the beginning. You cant forget about the gun salesman,Andy living across the street. But what really gets the most attention is how to get Andy food. Then Nicole takes off for her dog and is cornered by bitten Andy.So the gang sneaks over and stocks up on ammo before killing Andy and saving Nicole. Now the gang runs back to the Mall and leaves in two buses that they heavily armored. The movie ends as they kick off in a boat. The death toll for the group is amazing.Norma,Monica,Michael,CJ,Andy and many others. Will they survive or die?

Suprisingly, for a horror movie, it had very little scares,in fact, I would say I laughed more than I screamed, and this is coming from a guy who still gets scared watching Pee Wee's Big Adventure. now, that doesn't mean I didn't like it, I just didn't find it scary. The story is based on Romero's original screenplay, now, I don't know if that means it wasn't based on the one used in the original movie or not, that's just what I read. the acting was good, and Matt Frewer was in it. The movie does stick to the whole "if you have a dog in the movie, you can't kill it" rule, and uses it to further the plot.

I give it a "huh." (3/5)

Isaac suggested the remake? I thought he would've hated that movie.

honestly, I don't know, I don't remember there being a date, but you know I am watching different versions of the same films so the original could pop up

Courtney

So wait, are you watching all the originals AND their remakes?  You'll be at this for years!

*cough* The Crush has no remakes. *cough*   ;D

Isaac suggested the remake?

Somehow, I doubt it:

I suppose the next RiffTrax after The Wicker Man will be the crapfest that is the Dawn of the Dead remake?

Quote from: Isaac on May 11, 2007, 03:21:50 PM
the film on a whole is a return to form for Romero and a great change of pace from shit like Zack Snyder's as-braindead-as-its-zombie-characters remake of Dawn of the Dead.

Same thing with Dawn of the Dead. There's a mall and zombies, but beyond that, it's not even remotely close to the original. The original Day of the Dead is a great film. Romero does not deserve to be insulted by shitty remakes like these.

No.

Incidentally, while I actually like the Dawn remake, the original film is a true classic and well worth checking out.
