Beats me. I thought they were good.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

I just did a count and, with about a handful of exceptions, every Rifftrax could be classified as Sci-Fi/Fantasy or Action.  And the action is typically so over the top that it wouldn't be hard to argue that it meets a lot of criteria for fantasy.  I'm just pointing this out to help save on 20Q's.  I think it's a safe bet that it's one of these three just about every time.

Which is why I'm a little disappointed that The Matrix has come around again.  Don't get me wrong, I loved the Riff of the first one and I'll check this one out, but I'd really like to see a bit more variety in the titles that are chosen.

I agree. Although I know this one will be good, I just can't muster up the anticipation I had for the other ones they have done. I can't believe you all have been complaining about this movie (justifiably) and yet none have mentioned the BY FAR most excretable character, The Mirovingian (sp?). His character is the one I am most looking forward to being ripped to shreds.

You must have blocked out all the cries from 20 Questions past of "When will they finish the Matrix trilogy?" And to be fair, the first Matrix was done what .. in 2006?

You say you want more variety, but the popularity of certain riffs tells us a different story.

Well, I want more variety, but I'm probably in the minority.  :)

It's a bit of a shame though, isn't it?  In that I feel that perhaps 2 of the best Rifftrax - Glitter and Crossroads - are shied away from by viewers because of the films, rather than contents of the Riffs.  If viewers of MST3k knew what the films they were seeing every week were about, I wonder how many people would tune in? :)

I've definitely got mrbasehart's back on this one.  I realize that The Matrix riff is one of the best selling ones (or at least one of the "most played" according to last.fm), and that this riff for Reloaded was inevitable.  But I've always wanted them to avoid riffing movies within a series (Star Wars, Star Trek, Fantastic Four, etc.) and instead look at spreading their wings to places they haven't been yet.

I also realize we're in the minority, so...yeah.

im with basehart, i want more variety too.  i REALLY liked both the crossroads riff and the glitter riff and i would love to see some more chick flicks riffed.  HOwever branching out to other stuff to would be nice.

Yeah, like Videodrome.  :)

Yeah, and while we're at it, when are they going to riff The Wizard? :)

The Matrix was the first rifftrax I ever bought, so it and any sequels to follow hold a place in my heart.

As far as I'm concerned, at least it's not ANOTHER Star Trek.

But, at any point, does Fred Savage shove an NES cartridge into his gut? Somehow, I doubt it.
