Just got the new DVD set, watching Riding With Death right now. I've only ever seen this on Youtube. It's a lot clearer now, but it still has that ugly dull sheen of the 70s.

Pak-Man

Every time I see Riding with Death, I've completely forgotten from my previous viewing that the guy can turn invisible. It would be such a useful skill for anyone who wasn't usually piloting a vehicle.

So do I! It just shows how crappy the show is that they had already run out of things for him to do while invisible early on in the first season.

The Starfighters....

Just like Manos, this shows how skillful riffing can turn a utter snoozfest of a film into something fun and entertaining.

The Starfighters is a completely stupefying film.  I'm shocked they even bothered to take it on considering how much nothing it is.  On the plus side, it introduced the world to the Poopy Suit.  I think no other writer on the show loves the word poop/poopy than Trace.  You can hear it in his voice.

"Now... POOP!"

Iron Curtain

I just finished watching "The Day The Earth Froze" (Ep. #422) for the second time. The first time I watched it, I couldn't follow the plot, so I paid especially close attention the second time around. And then I understood the plot perfectly and the riffs made a lot more sense.

I love those Russian episodes.  They're extremely handsome movies that are also super-goofy made goofier by odd dubbing choices.

Iron Curtain

Diabolik (original series finale). I just wanted to see how the original series ended so I can see how the revival will pick up where it left off, if it does do that...

Johnny Unusual

Diabolik is a rare episode where the movie is actually really cool.  Yes. it's goofy as all get out, but in a way where it is plenty watchable without the riffs and has some real flare.  Still, a very well riffed movie.  I'd actually like to read the original comics, too.

Iron Curtain

Alien from L.A. with squeaky-voiced supermodel Kathy Ireland. Goddammit, that movie was a big-budget terrible movie...

The Lurker

At some point either new Mystery Science Theater 3000 or Rifftrax needs to do the sequel.

I'm guessing it will be Rifftrax because Joel has consistently said that the MST3K revival's movie diet would consist of B-movies from the 80's and before.

Pak-Man

He did say there's one from the 90s..

Iron Curtain

Ah. I didn't know that! I guessed I misheard what he said after following all his interviews...

This is one of the few shows that I return to for no apparent reason. I find it strangely entertaining.
