QV, I agree. I am a HUGE Batman fan but GL is a close second. His whole mythology. There is a much better origin film for GL made by DC films Animation, called "Green Lantern: First Flight" and it is on that Netflix that all the kids like or the Prime Amazon or one of those streaming things....

Anyways, BATMAN and GL were pretty close for awhile, (not in a GAY way!), but then Batman realized he hates aliens. So, it got pretty ugly from there... there was a whole story. Basically, Batman hates anyone with superpowers.... except WonderWoman.... which makes no sense to me.

If they ever actually COMMITTED the sexual act, her thighs would crush his pelvis into a fine pulp.  But, it's Wonder Woman... I guess we all can dream.... hmmmm.... Wonder Woman....

I always thought xenophobic Batman was always a stupid thing.  It feels like it was spawned from 80's and 90's writers anti-hero cynicism and it spilled into the big non-powered character.

Groot can absorb wood as food, with the ability to rebuild himself and enhance his strength. He can control trees, using them to attack others, and also appears to be resistant to fire. He is able to sprout, dramatically increasing his mass but also severely inhibiting his movement.

Seriously, though this looks AWESOME, and that's just from the trailer. I still can't get enough of the fact that DC says "Wonder Woman is a hard character to put into film", and Marvel says, "Here, have a raccoon with a machine gun." This looks like it'll be the most lighthearted and kid friendly Marvel movie since Thor, which was itself the most kid friendly since Spider-man. I'm definitely VERY excited for this movie! RR and Groot are super cool and adorable at the same time. Characters are REALLY well designed. I can't wait for Friday; Moviebob over at the Escapist usually does an article examining trailers bit by bit to find the interesting allusions to other things in the Marvel Universe.

Got to hand it to James Gunn, not a lot of people would think to use "Hooked on a Feeling" in their super-hero movie.  I love it!

That trailer was pretty good. I love James Gunn, and he was the primary reason I wasn't just dismissing this entirely (even though it might have seen like I was sometimes). And it looks like his sense of humor is in ful force here.
Although I will say that the emphesis on the human character is a little dissapointing. As he is the least intersting of them. And I could do without the connection to Earth at all in a movie called Guardians of the GALAXY.
