Apparently the trailer just leaked but Disney keeps pulling it.

But not before someone made a Rocket Raccoon gif.

Thought I saw today that Vin Diesel is playing Groot.  Wooden actor acting as a tree? Works for me!  :highfive:

I have no doubt of this movie's awesome. Marvel hasn't let me down since the continuity experiment began, why would they start now?

Well he did play the robot in Iron Giant.

I think it's great casting.  Vin Diesel actually can be a good actor (re: Find Me Guilty), but I think he'll do good playing a limited and humourous role.  Plus, he'll only need to remember one line of dialogue.

Is there really any demand for this movie? There are so many Marvel heroes they could choose, and I never saw this series as overly popular. Am I wrong? I'll probably check it out if it doesn't cost me anything, but I definitely wouldn't spend $8+ to see it.

Johnny Unusual

I would.  First of all, it's directed by James Gunn who has a very unique style.  Secondly, it's sounds like it's going to be one of the most intentionally fun, silly movies that Marvel has put out, which I am a fan of.  There are also a lot of Guardians characters I think people would be excited to see realized, like Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

I am interested, particularly because James Gunn is directing. But I'm disappointed they are using Thanos in this instead of Avengers 2. Unless it's different than the comics, it should all take place FAR from Earth. So it's the most separated from the other Marvel movies. And given the inherently bizarre premise, it is the most likely one of the Marvel universe movies to really shit the bed. In which case the other movies would be likely to try to shy away from. It'd be a shame to waste Thanos on such a risky movie.

The only raccoon movie I'd really be interested in seeing would have Cyril Sneer as a central villain.

I have to admit, the fact that talking raccoons are in this universe makes me weary.

Nuts, I was really rooting for those David Tennant rumors.

Between this and The Hobbit, isn't David Tennant rumored to appear in everything lately?
