It's hard when something you love doesn't age well, yannow? For me, movies like Spaceballs and Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock are no longer as crazy enjoyable to watch as when I was 9-25 years old. They just sort of exist as... movies that I used to love. :(

Ah, the personal use of "aged well", if young people still like a movie you liked when young but not now then the movie has aged just fine, it's you that has changed.  If no one likes a movie anymore that was liked when it came out, that's a movie that hasn't aged well.

Is there a term for something that fades on repeat viewings?  I could see that happening with Firefly, there's not much of it and it was something really different when it came out.  I think I've only watched the entire series twice, some episodes 3 times.

I've definitely changed. Some movies just lack a certain spark... or something where it just loses all appeal after a certain number of viewings. As you've pointed out of course that varies from person to person. I don't know, I guess after a while something loses its freshness? Maybe that's a good turn of phrase, I don't know.
