Not to mention that Jack & Jill and Son of the Mask are comedies, which Rifftrax doesn't do.

Wait. Son of the Mask was meant to be a comedy?
FINE

I knew the live shows were well attended but I  had no idea just how big a following Rifftrax has if the amount of dollars are any indication.  I assume this is a good example of  social media at work.
And I'm worse than Hitler.

Maybe eventually the crew from Cinematic Titanic could be brought aboard when they disband after this year for future RT Live shows :o

Pak-Man

Ooooh. Now THERE'S a stretch goal. If they hit a million dollars, they can hire Cinematic Titanic to come help. :^)

Does anyone know a more exact date for this other than August? I'm tempted by one of the VIP options, but would need a definitive date to make it work.

Logistically, it's always on a Thursday night, so that narrows it down somewhat.

So did anyone here sign up for the meet and greet?
My wife got the last $2,000 one yesterday for my birthday present. :)

If I were to take an educated guess, I'd say the show will be August 15th. They always seem to schedule their August live shows for the Thursday closest to Tyrant and my anniversary. :^)

Yep...but there's one Thursday in August I definitely can't make (the 15th- I know because my wife's b-day is on the 16th and usually she takes that week off, but someone else snagged it before she could this year). I might be able to swing any of the other Thursdays in August though.

Dang....you've got a nice wife!

Lucky dog. Honestly, if we hadn't set up our Vegas vacation just a couple weeks ago and bought a new TV with our tax refund, we'd probably go for the $1500 ticket. It'd be our most expensive vacation to date, but it'd be SO worth it.

I don't get something. The price levels can sell out? That doesn't make sense to me. Is that true on the case of lower level donations like 30 bucks?

Kickstarter gives you the option of providing limited-run rewards. For instance, if you're raising money for a short film, you can offer an original prop from the film, but since there are a finite number of props in the film, you'll only offer that to a limited number of people.

In this case, there are a limited number of VIP seats in the theater, Kevin has limited time and energy to write people original songs, etc.

Trekker4747

Yeah, only the higher rewards were limited (like VIP seats at the event, stuff like that) but most of the options can have unlimited backers.  Digital downloads obviously are limitless, typing a name into a website or string of credits is nearly limitless. Probably the biggest "hurdle" for them is going to be for them to read of the countless names in the "personalized thanks" video promised with some of the options.

So, my question is when do we get the shorts? The date on the Kickstarter campaign is set for when the "rewards" come, but in the case of the dates listed it seems to be either tied to the event itself or (in my case) the VOD release. Certainly the shorts will come sooner?  Please. :(  The B&W original Norman short, god, I want to see that. There's one scene in particular I want to hear the guys' reaction to!
