Jeeze! It's exciting to watch this skyrocket up. Inside of a few hours and it's already knocking on $100K! I wonder what the guys' reaction to it doing this well is, did they have even an inkling that they'd reach this goal so quickly?! The KS doesn't end uintil the end of March! Man, by then who knows how much they'll have or be able to achieve!

It seems like Mike is surprised, to say the least.

Yeah, I saw his Twitter update.

I bet all of the guys were just blown away by this.

KidFlash

Kevin's tweets are just a variation of 'holy shit, you guys are awesome' at this point.

$100k in six and a half hours. We ARE awesome.

When it was about $30 away I raised my pledge for that amount. By the time all of the processing/etc. was done (including a browser crash) it had already soared past $100,000.  The guy's just have to be stunned by this.

I'm just imagining RVR II starting a meth lab so he can raise enough money to get them the rights to riff DUNE live.

Rainbow Dash

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were 2 of the 2,000 pledges.

RVR II

I like your thinking there DG *grabs the bong ...* :o

I just realized, that if they are able to riff twilight live, would that mean they would hold off on breaking dawn part 2, or would they still riff it, and do twilight live?

Trekker4747

They'll do both, I assume. The Twilight riffs have been VERY popular for them and they've come too far to not do Breaking Dawn 2.

And when better to promote their final Twilight MP3 riff than from the stage at the live show!!!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Yeah, I'm a little shocked there hasn't been a day of release announcement for Breaking Dawn part 2.

Keep in mind: They pulled it off for Birdemic. Granted, Birdemic isn't Twilight, but it had a theatrical run and official DVD/Blu-ray release going on at the time. They've managed this before. I'd imagine the ONLY difference is the price. If the kickstarter covers that price, then it should be a done deal.

Also, it says right on the Kickstarter page that if they can't pull it off, they'll go right on down the worst movie list and knock on every door until someone's willing to take their (at this rate) hundreds of thousands of dollars. If anything on that list gets riffed, I'll consider my contribution money well-spent (And, like others have said, there are entries on that list I'd RATHER see than Twilight).

The people who held the rights to Birdemic were most likely smart enough to realize that the film only has a 'The Room' appeal and they better make as much money as they can off their five minutes in the spot light before history completely forgets about them.  Twilight doesn't need $100,000.  It doesn't need $200,000.  It's really not that much money to a franchise that gigantic.  I think the only way it'll happen is if they decide to be good sports about it and have a sense of humor.  The money will only help us look more adorable, like the 10 year old who saves up his allowance for a whole year to buy a BB gun.

Not to say that I feel bad about supporting the kickstarter.  I happily give my money regardless of the outcome.  But I'm not going to hold my breath.
