Only Guillermo DelToro can get me excited that a movie based on man-in-suit movies uses key-frame animation CGI. He's doing it for the right reason.

Some people were describing this as the live action equivalent of Evangelion, which I find funny because there was supposed to be a live action Evangelion (and ADV, or rather its remains, still claims it's WIP...)
"Don't make me shoot you...CROOOOOOOOOW!"

Was that the one James Cameron was working on (and sounded a hell of a lot more interesting than Avatar)? Or was that Battle Angel Alita? Are they the same thing but different names or something?

That was Battle Angel Alita (or GUNM as it's called in Japan). Evangelion was going to be some big project from ADV and it's pretty much dead, but their new company (Sentai Filmworks) brought up something about it last year or so. General reaction from pretty much everyone was "Seriously?"

Well, maybe if Pacific Rim is successsful, interest in those types of movies will rise.

This movie better be successful if we ever want to get the At the Mountains of Madness movie back on track. So everyone here has to pay to see it twice at peak hours on opening weekend, at least. Be ready.

Unless it has caustic reviews or something, I am sure I will be watching this SEVERAL times in the theater.
