I'm actually glad there isn't going to be a longer cut. Since they wouldn't have cut out any of the robot on monster fight scenes due to the cost, it would have just meant more time away from them. Now if we had a whole bunch of more scenes with Ron Perlman, I would be okay with that. But I doubt GdT would have cut any of that out either.

and this is without China and Japan (if this list is accurate). We'll have a money maker by next weekend.

Sad to see it fall 57% in it's second weekend. No legs. So even if it does make a profit (remember, $190 mil doesn't include what is probably almost $100 mil in advertisements), we won't see a sequel. More importantly, it doesn't help Guillermo Del Toro's standing in Hollywood to get projects done the way he wants them.

Quotewe won't see a sequel

it is not necessary, who know how much it will make in China and Japan and in dvd blu ray sales.

I would say that $400m worldwide is the break-even point.  Figure on at least $100-150m for marketing.

Del Toro with a budget isn't a bad thing - Hellboy 2 looks astounding considering its cost.

But I'm certain that this won't necessarily be bad for him, the movie has gotten good reviews and the media perception isn't of a director gone mad (like Andrew Stanton, rightly or wrongly, on John Carter), just of a film that was an expensive gamble. Hell, Disney's still announcing screenwriters for a Tron 3, even after Legacy (to most in the business) underpeformed.

Del Toro's always played ball with Hollywood and people know it.

Also, screenwriter Travis Beacham was still talking up 'retuns to this universe' on Twitter a few days ago. He implied that it might mean a sequel, or more graphic novels. We'll see.
