I just think Clash of the Titans sounded better than Clash of the Olympians which, while being closer to accurate based on the characters featured, sounds more like a film of a cat fight between between Mary Lou Retton and Nadia Comaneci.

Id pay to see THAT IN 3D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you ask me, they wasted money paying for the rights to the franchise when they could just adapt any one of a hundred other Greek myths, just as, if not more, exciting than this. There's not really any point in using someone else's adaptation as if it was just an original screenplay.

BTW, who were the Titans? I never got that.
The Titans came before, and were apparently even greater than, the Gods of Olympus.

Apparently they also like to play football.

Besides....we already know how that fight came out.

Name recognition.  That's all they care about anymore.  That's why you get all of these "re-imaginings" that have nothing to do with the original.

This movie stinks.  Cloverfield and  Kraken must be related.

"The new Clash of the Titans hits theaters this weekend in 3D — not because the filmmakers wanted it that way, but because Warner Bros. could charge more for it. Which is just plain wrong."

This just got awesomer and cheesier as it will now be in 3D.  :highfive:

:highfive:

...hahahahahahahahaha! Awesome.

:highfive:

I thought this had the same pacing problems as the first movie and the origional story or how I remember it) with the first half being ALL exposition and set-up, then cramming all the action into the last half.

Overall I had fun and I thought the Kraken looked amazing, like a giantic spider/octopus/rancor.

Completely worthless as a 3D movie, but entertaining enough in its own right.  I enjoyed myself, wasn't bored, and when this gets riffed if there aren't a number of "Don't Pay The Ferryman" jokes it will be a crime.

Saw it .... wasnt a "good" movie but I dont think that was the point/ Yes the plot was watered down  and the dialogue was corny as catshit but I was entertained . All and all a good way to kill two hours ...once.  or twice if it gets riffed.    Did any one else want yell out this is sparta or some variation several times throught the film ...

I had to screen it for work. I noticed some parts where the CG compositing looked really bad, and I honestly couldn't figure out why. Then I realized: That's the stuff they re-composited to lend itself more readily to 3-D (which, if you'll recall, was done VERY last-minute). So, they compromised the entire look of the movie (couldn't they have just released the 2-D film version with the original effects shots?) for their stupid gimmick.

Oh, and our roommate, who loves 3-D, saw that version, and said the 3-D was terrible. Good job, Warner Bros.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I've heard the same thing, Beenie, though we've only got it in 2d at our place.  Still, it made $63 million dollars opening weekend.  Whether it'll stick around is another question though, especially as word-of-mouth about the quality of the effects gets around.

No, I meant, who are the Titans "clashing" in the title? Like which two or more characters does that refer to? I never understood.

In the original movie it was a reference to using the head of Medusa to fight the Kraken.  Neither one of them really was a Titan, but they were both powerful supernatural monsters so that seemed to be enough for the filmmakers.
