Would be ironic, eh?
Would be a miracle, since it is Asylum, after all.
Or the Ritchie one could be that bad....

Keep trying to find a copy of The Asylum's Monster to see if it's worse or better than Cloverfield in plot....

OH, DEAR GOD! AVOID THAT MOVIE AT ALL COSTS! Seriously, that was the worst movie, annoying and bad on every level, so far below laughably bad it's not even funny.

The only thing good related to this movie is Foywoder's review of it (presented as found audio):

Well, for what it's worth...Rotten Tomatoes' score for this stands at 71% overall as I write this.

The critics score is 50% and the "community" has an amazing amount of 100% scores for a movie that isn't out for another 48 hours....but I guess that's possible.

(Not probable and probably plants but....who knows?)

Doctor Who?

I just plan to ignore this movie.  I will stay home watch the Jeremy Brett series and read some of the books.  I like him as an actor but why would you cast RDjr?  He doesn't look a thing like Holmes.  As I said I plan to ignore this movie, less pain that way.

Doctor Who?

By ignor I mean i am not going to watch it.  Why would i bother i know it looks awful and not at all true to the spirit of the books.  This is the last you will hear about it from me.

QuoteI have read only a handful of Holmes stories myself.

And that's all you need to know about where he's coming from.

Going to see it tomorrow.

I guess I didn't read the right Sherlock Holmes stories.  I missed the ones where Dr. Watson suddenly punches Holmes between the eyes in the middle of conversations.

Actually I love this bit from RD article:

Quotemost images you see of the character are based on this guy. Who fought Nazis in World War II.

Er, no they aren't dear boy, they're based on images like this:

Rathbone was cast, in no small part, because he resembled the Paget illustrations.

And that's the trouble with the article; the author hasn't a clue about the history of the books but still decides that he'll take on the criticisms and misgiving of those who are.

Anyone can form an opinion about a film or a book but if one writes an article whose purpose is to counter criticism of those who have read all of the books of a film is loosely based on them, it helps the credibility of said article if the author doesn't let on that they've not really read the books.
