Love her to death, but my mother-in-law thought Shark Boy & Lava Girl was "a pretty good movie". It's as if she hadn't just suffered through nearly 2 hours of astoundingly bad 3-D stupidity before saying that.

Everyone saying Mummy 3 is worse than Mummy 2 sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

My friend talked me into seeing The Village because he was convinced it was about the folk legends of the Appalachian region. He was obviously wrong, but that's not the interesting part. He's from a small town in the PA Appalachians and has lived there his entire life, and apparently recognized the flora and geography of the region in the trailers for The Village, which according to IMDB was indeed filmed along those very mountains and in part in specifically in Pennsylvania, not far from where we both live. The depth of his knowledge about his little hillbilly world just fucking amazes me. He doesn't know what vending machines charge for sodas in real towns, but he can recognize a Pennsylvanian forest in a movie trailer.

So mummy 3 is better than mummy 2? I may have to pick up mummy 3 now.

I once heard a guy state that he enjoyed something I disliked.  That was nuts.

:highfive:

I feel this should be a sub-board title and all these threads should be it it.

Sadly, Rachel weisz was one of the reasons I enjoyed the first movies... come to think of it, it might have been the only reason. Maybe I should rethink this.

I guess this belongs on the guilty pleasures thread... but I have soft spot for this movie. Sure, it's two hours of "WTF?" on loop... like the movie that an eight year old, hyperactive David Lynch would make... but for some reason it worked for me.

Must be said: What the hell is wrong with this country that it can say, "Hey! Talking chiuahuahs! The most neurotic, psychotic, annoying dogs on earth. I'd like to see that!"

The parents, their excuse is that their kids wanted to see it. Someone call social services! It's your responsibility as a parent to protect your child from anything that could potential damage their mental capacities.
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

"Joel, what's a Harringway?"
"About a pound."
