Must be said: What the hell is wrong with this country that it can say, "Hey! Talking chiuahuahs! The most neurotic, psychotic, annoying dogs on earth. I'd like to see that!"

The parents, their excuse is that their kids wanted to see it. Someone call social services! It's your responsibility as a parent to protect your child from anything that could potential damage their mental capacities.

Ah yes. I recall the trailer before Wall-E. A few people behind us told eachother they wanted to see it. They were adults with no visable children with them. I managed to stop myself from screaming about how it's people like them that are making it possible for studios to keep making those wretched Scary/Date/Disaster/Epic movie horrors.

My theater is currently showing BHC and the people going to see it are pretty infuriating in every way.

Has anybody here actually seen Beverly Hills Chihuahua?  And if so, is it as dumb as we'd all predicted it would be?

If I did I blacked out during the experience. My mind likes to do that when I'm faced with something potentially traumatizing.
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

"About a pound."

I was very close to being forced to watch it last night.  Thankfully, another staff member wanted to see it, and I saw Black Dragons on my iPod.  From what I head and what I saw, both the films were as bad as each other.   :)

I saw it, my housemate hired it as a joke and/or because he was high.  I thought it was stupid (it's a talking dog movie) but also pretty sweet and fun as far as that sort of thing goes.

I still haven't heard anyone say why Mummy 3 is bad. I haven't seen one frame indicating anything stupider than a flying boat escaping a flood or man-eating CG pygmies or a CG The Rock head on a giant scorpion. You're seriously telling me it's POSSIBLE to make something stupider than that? REALLY?

A sequel to 2007's transformers is being made.

It isn't ridiculous if you are profiting from it. It doesn't matter how bad it is, it will smash records.

The fact that a sequel is being made is not suprising, because it was (sadly) a box office smash, just like the rest of Michael Bay's movies.
The amazing part to me is that STEVEN SPIELBERG would hire him. WTF? How the F*#& did that happen? Remember when Spielberg actually chose people with talent, like Dante and Zemekis? Why would Steven Spielberg even let Michael Bay shine his shoes?

Again, he makes him money.

Spielberg invested with Bernie Madoff because he was snookered into thinking he could make him money, too.  It happens.

Spielburg already HAS money. Besides, Dante and Zemekis made him money, too. Can you imagine how awesome Joe Dante's Transformers movie would have been?

I agree. But....

Ever known anyone with money who has said they have enough (even Warren Buffett)?

Spielberg still has to deal with movie studios to get his stuff made and distributed. I'm no Transformer's fan so I can't say but I will say that ANY film by Dante would be better than one by Bay.  After The Polar Express and his obsession with CGI I'll hold my tongue about Zemekis (who I've loved since I Wanna Hold Your Hand.   Hell, I'd love to see Nick Castle or even Tobe Hooper make a major comeback.  However, those movie studios are full of the same kind of assholes with business administration MBA's who've never held a real job in their lives that are killing the banks and the car industry as we speak.....and they consider those directors to be "too old" or whatever.  They think action movies are nothing but things blowing up - and that's what Bay is.

Tripe

I'd have loved to have seen Tobe Hooper's Transformers.
