Tripe

Yes, at least in the film version in the original TV version it was a block of flats (or maybe an office block) being built I think, it's the one with the "Hive Cleansing" vision and the apparition of the Martian looming over London near the end.

Kneale really was an expert at creating a creepy atmosphere.

It's a Wonderful Life
Lawrence Of Arabia
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Casablanca
Blade Runner
Taxi Driver
Usual Suspects, The
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind (can't believe I just nominated anything with Jim Carrey in it but there it is)
Fargo
The Dark Knight

*just an aside, I see that somehow BASEketball landed on the initial list of films.  Now, I don't know how that happened but it may mean that I will need to personally hunt down and hurt people or their loved ones.

Agreement that One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest deserves a nom, ditto on Taxi Driver. Fargo's a maybe (I really like the movie, but I don't think I'm as into it as everyone else is). Dunno about the rest, it's been too long since I've seen them (though I'm pretty sure a couple of them should be on there, no doubt).

And I'm still a bit curios as to how The Day After Tomorrow ended up on the list. It just defies too much logic.

I agree with a lot I have seen mentioned, here are a few that deserve mentioning that I didn't see

Gaslight
City of Lost Children
Murder By Death
I meditate diligently every morning. The subject is Life and Love. I quit after three seconds.

Is this the last of the Round 1 Movies? Guess Round 2 will start soon.

Sorry, the schedule got so muddled that I decided to do the last matches of Round 1 in one go. The rest of Round 1 should be up in a few.

Did we really go through all of the nominated movies in round 1 or am I not understanding how this works...?

[Edit] We didn't go through all of the movies in round 1. How does this work?

You must have missed the prelim round.

You know that since this is taking so long at least two movies - Wall-E and Dark Knight - have come out that need to be on a list titled "Greatest Movie Ever".

(now watch you put these two against each other in a poll  :P)

*Does some research*

Oh.

Well that's a bit disappointing.

I finally had someone remove the shrink wrap and pop in the DVD I bought many years ago and I must say, it is a shame I missed my chance to nominate Killer Klowns From Outer Space.  :speechless:
