Hooray! No longer will the name "Hulk" be synonymous with the term "Awful Movie!"

LOVED it. Loved every minute. Bruce Banner was engaging, the Hulk was just the right mix of prideful, vicious, and savage, and the fireworks at the end were largely satisfying.

So did anyone get the sense from the first Emil Vs. Hulk battle

I thought it was decent, it dragged in some parts, but it definitely had it's moments

Just got back.  Really enjoyed it.  SO much better the Ang Lee abomination (little Hulk humor there).  Not as good as Iron Man, but that's gonna be a tough bar to reach.  The Emil/Hulk fight in the field was great. Wish it would have been longer.  Samuel Sterns was pretty annoying.  Kinda hope he doesn't end up in the sequel.  All and all though, very entertaining and very well done.

I know...

Spoiler

Samuel Sterns is The Leader.  The big brained gamma charged foil to the Hulk.

The dude just bugged me.

I'm no comicbook expert on Hulk, but I believe the character as written before he became Leader was a bit nerdy and annoying. It's just that when he turned green and grew a Metallunan sized cranium he became much more sinister.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I loved Stern's portrayal, myself. I think they did a good job balancing the geeky scientist with megalomania that is needed to make a believable Leader. And Tim Blake Nelson is one of those cool character actors that is fun to see whatever he's in. Good to see him getting a bigger role.
Also, am I the only one who thought Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky reminded me a lot of an evil version of Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz?

I still say that the end scene setting up the Avengers makes it sound like Hulk will be the villain in the Avengers movie. Which I really like. Iron Man, Nick Fury with SHIELD, Thor and Captain America, perhaps with one more new hero brought in would make a good pared down start to the Avengers. Too many would result in origins and too many characters to juggle in one movie.

Also, the expression on Tony Stark's face when General Ross asked "Who's we?" looked like the people he was referring to were standing right behind the General. Did anybody else think that?

I thought the movie was really good compared to Ang Lee's version. Tons more action, far more engaging non-action scenes, and Ed Norton made a far better Bruce Banner than Eric Bana did. Although I hold that Iron Man is the better of the two Marvel superhero movies this year, I rank this film up there with Spiderman 2 and X-Men 2 in terms of sheer entertainment.

I think Marvel Studios has gotten off to a spectacular start, so far.  :)

I was disappointed that we didn't see anything happen to Stan Lee after he drank the contaminated soda. I would have loved to see him hulk out at least for a moment and trash his kitchen.

I'm still waiting for one of these movies to have Stan's cameo be him talking with Mick Jagger about how many chicks they've been with.
Either that, or him putting flowers on Jack Kirby's grave.

I didn't notice that....I'll have to look next time.

Frankly, I was just impressed that Robert Downey, Jr. seems to be a "team player" so to speak.  I mean, yeah undoubtedly he got paid to appear but he could have had the hit with Iron Man and then started to pull a Brando....  He was not only in the scene, he was acting.

And I don't think entertainment lawyers think that far ahead even now to have had him (or anyone else) sewn up.

BTW, Iron Man = Paramount....The Incredible Hulk = Universal.  They've shopped the characters around to different studios and then they'll bring them together....where?   ???

I'm probably wrong but I don't think there's been a jointly made picture done since The Rocketeer

It was even in one of the trailers.

Just to clarify a few things.

Robert Downey Jr. has said that he is a huge comic book fan and said during the Iron Man presser that he is willing to do any sorts of cameos and would love to be in an Avengers movie.

Also as for the studios, the Hulk and Iron Man were both made by Marvel Studios they were just distributed by different companies, basically all Universal and Paramount did was actually distribute the film to theaters. Marvel paid for it all and they were in charge of every aspect of each film.

Oh and while it would be cool to have the beginning of the Avengers show them trying to capture the Hulk, i personally believe the whole movie shouldn't be about that. I really think the character of the Hulk through out the movie and especially at the end he had become a hero and to make him a villain in the Avengers just wouldn't work. Maybe have them capture the Hulk because they need him to help them fight some one like Ultron or something.

I get the feeling that scene takes place after Tony and Nick Fury have found Captain America and unfrozen him......hence the smile like "you won't believe who if I tell you"

I don't know if any of you frequent my favorite spot, http://www.superherhype.com but there is apparently a few scenes that were cut from the movie that may see the light of day online or on the DVD release.

"wow, that is an interesting tv spot Jacob"

Thank you kind stranger, here is another pleasant surprise just for you

QuoteEveryone already knows that Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man) shows up in "The Incredible Hulk," and now, director Louis Leterrier has confirmed that fans will get to see Captain America as well. In an interview with SOS Hollywood, Leterrier revealed the exact place where the cameo will take place.

"There's a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decides to kill himself," said Leterrier. "So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else considered to be too hard for young audiences to take, so we've cut it. Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination he meets up with Captain America!"

The Artic Circle has indeed showed up in several of the trailers and TV spots, but outside of an aerial shot, there is nothing more. Not to worry, explained Leterrier. "At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet – but I cannot tell you where or when – and the material will definitely be on the DVD."

And speaking of the DVD, the director confirmed that the Blu-ray version will contain over 70 minutes of cut footage. The film hits theaters tomorrow (June 13th).

BBQ Platypus

I saw it, and liked it.  Plenty of good action scenes - I remember thinking "Wow, this CGI is WAY better than the blurry mess that was Transformers" about midway through the Emil-Hulk fight.  That chase scene early in the movie was like something out of a Bourne movie (only better because it wasn't filmed in Confuse-O-Vision).  The characterization and casting was good (although I wouldn't call this a particularly "intellectual" film).

Three platypus legs (out of four possible)!
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.
