Sigh... in the MST3K episode "Fugitive Alien," they made up that song when Rocky tried to kill Ken with a forklift.

I guess that's not something everyone should know, but

and in the next installment,

You know, now that I listen to the Fugitive Alien music lampooned above it does sound kind of Russian inspired. The only problem with singing them in a Russian accent is that Blonsky in this movie speaks with a British accent because Roth didn't want to attempt an accent he couldn't pull off.

P.S. I don't know why but I find Tim Roth pretty damn sexy in this movie in a regular guy kind of way.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I was singing that.....

Wonder if Edward Norton is a MSTie?!?!?!?!   :D :D :D

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here when I say I didn't really like this film, whereas I really enjoyed Ang Lee's Hulk.  First off, it seemed like every single line of dialogue was exposition.  Second... Liv Tyler.  Why did this movie have Liv Tyler?  She was decent as Arwen, but that's about it.  Third, the title character didn't look a think like Edward Norton.  He did bear a remarkable resemblance to the original stop-motion version of the Jolly Green Giant.  If they wanted to use the character to sell green beans, then they did a good job.  Third, I really didn't like how they did General Ross in this movie.  They turned him from a complex character who was willing to take the unfortunate action of denying one person his freedom for the sake of others into a generic evil military guy who's willing to risk the lives of civilians to further his own ends.  Fourth: the whole homo-erotic overtones of Tim Roth and William Hurt's relationship... what was up with that?

Good points dalty, though I'm not sure I agree about the whole Hulk-lookalike thing. Durastic changes happen during the whole transformation, turning a skinny scientist into a muscled up superhero, and it's not exactly without precedent. Bill Bixby doesn't look too much like Lou Ferrigno now does he?  ;)

Well, they didn't have the technology to digitally give Lou Ferrigno Bill Bixby's face.  Which, as I type that, makes me realize that now I've given someone the idea to go back and digitally alter the old series to put Bill Bixby's face on Lou Ferrigno's body.

Anyway, Ang Lee's Hulk at least had Eric Bana's face. With the new one, they designed the Hulk character before Edward Norton was cast as Banner, and it shows.  And rather than... I dunno... altering their design so it resembled the actor it was supposedly based on, they just kept their design.

Anyway, as to the Avengers film, I'm guessing it's probably going to be at least partially based on the Ultimates.  (The presence of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury would seem to confirm this.  The Ultimates redesign of Fury is intentionally based on Jackson, with his approval.)

I see what you mean. Perhaps in the sequel or the Avengers movie, they'll make the Hulk look more like Norton.

So his body gets horribly distorted and extended, his cellular makeup itself is fundametally altered, and he altogether gains around a literal ton in defiance of even the loosest laws of physics, but the fact that he doesn't have Norton's face throws you off?

Not that I'm saying anything...

I guess I never thought much about the lookalike factor, I mean the scenes when you see the transformation occur you can see how his face physically changes and the fact that the Hulk: A-is a being of pure primitive style power and looks appropriately primitive for it. and B-looks very close to the comics representation helped things along.

Hate to say it but General Ross in the comics is just like he is in this movie. There's no Sam Elliot charm in the character whatsoever. Thunderbolt Ross is really one of Hulk's bitterest enemies, forget Abomination, Wendigo, Leader, etc. etc.
