Just one thing to ponder on.

If this is their Thanksgiving Present, what the heck are they gonna give us for Christmas?

I'm excited... but I think we all sort of knew in our heart of hearts they were going to do this one... Troll 2.. heh...

You know, I think the hardest part of that puzzle was that I actually forced myself into the mindset where I was thinking, "Hey, maybe Troll 2 will actually be a pretty good riff!"  And just when I had rationalized myself into believing it, they yanked the rug out from under us.

Cruel.  Just... cruel.

Dear Rifftrax, please stop. Too  much joy. Rifftrax is approaching the point of receiving all my praise and devotion.

Not sure how I feel about this. I just hope Mike and Kevin aren't aren't as mean-spirited as they've been lately. I don't think my little fanboy heart could take it.

Dont forget, it is the Theatrical Version

Dang  :(

Stupid New Line releasing a Theatrical and Extended cut on DVD. Why couldn't have just been the Extended one, then they would've had to have riffed that one...

Oh well, off to the local video rental store.

I knew there was a reason I held onto my copy of the inferior cut. But really, the full extended (AKA better) edition would be far too long for our Philistine Ring-hating friends here.

I recommend Blockbuster Online. Now you can use your "return envelope" (with the movie inside of course), bring it into the store and exchange it for another movie. Now you can have another free movie while you wait for your next one!

But that plan requires actually setting foot in a Blockbuster. Each time you do that your soul turns a shade darker. Sort of a reverse Grinch deal.

A psycho Orlando Bloom fan teenager gave it to me and demanded I watch it so I could see the godliness that is Legolas...needless to say, I didn't see it and it crushed her that I didn't as she hugged her Orlando pillow.

It warms my aforementioned fanboy heart to hear tell of a young loving LOTR, even if is due to some misplaced crush on that little she-male Bloom. And he has maybe 10 lines in 12 hours worth of movie.

Woohoo!  A pity it's not the extended version (which most of us probably have) but I can understand the reasons why.  At least the theatrical versions should be dirt cheap to get.

Glad they are doing movies like LOTR and Phantom Menace. Surely this will bring more fans in the fold.

I own both theatrical and extended, the theatricals have NEVER been out of the dvd case... until now :)

I always think I'm going to wean myself slowly off of Rifftrax, and they come out wth this.

Sigh, I might as well face it, ALL my money is going to eventually end up going to Rifftrax.

Mike said in the interview he likes this one. No need for him to bash something he openly enjoys. Should be cool. :^)

Hey they were able to quote the movie. They at least know of its existance. That's more than I can say for my secret dreamtrax: Double Dragon. :^)

You do have a point. The attention a Lord Of The Rings riff will attract must have figured into their decision somewhat. Even with the unusually large and vocal following Troll 2 has, I think there just might be a bigger LOTR fanbase.  ;)

Regardless, I think Fellowship should make for a better RiffTrak on the whole than Troll 2. The LOTR movies are very serious - the key to good riffing. Troll 2, not so much with the seriousness.

My theatrical edition discs came out of their cases the day they were released for purchase. But, yeah, never since the extended editions came out.

Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the Rifftrax.  I will be first in line to buy "The Fellowship Of The Ring".  It's just Fellowship of the ring is a GOOD MOVIE and TROLL 2 is beyond bad.  For me I laugh till I cry when Mike riffs an awful movie but with the good movies I just laugh till my eyes water.  (The good ones are better when on a date so I don't look weak)  Can't we get a classic awful B movie every once in a great while?  I do look forward to the film crew's upcoming projects, but they seem to be ancient public domain movies.  I want some recent cheese.  But if Fellowship Of The Ring is what it takes to keep this site up and going then bring it on!  (I mean bring it on as in a figure of speech not the awful movie even I have limits)
