I'd rather watch Mike tear apart a good movie than suffer through a bad one.

HUZZAH! My friends and I riff this movie every time we see it playing on TV. I just find it funny most of the time rather than good. This will probably be my favorite rifftrack ever!

FUCKIN' A!!!

I HATED what that hack Peter Jackson did to J.R.R. Tolkien's masterful writing. I'll definitely be the first one to download this track. But where's Bill? Didn't Mike say that he wanted to get all three to do LOTR?

I hope this one doesn't have too many insider Tolkien jokes.  I've never been into the whole Tolkien thing, will this thing be accessible to those of us that wouldn't know Tolkien from Toblerone?  I just wanna laugh at the movie, not have to run to an online Tolkien directory to figure out what a Bilbo Baggins is.

A "Bilbo Baggins" is what the hobbits call their water bong.

LOL. Lord of the Rings actually had a cult following in the 1960s among hippies who thought that Tolkien had the Hobbits smoking pot. It was actually tobacco in the book, but an early scene in Peter Jackson's film of The Fellowship of the Ring seems to suggest that the Hobbits (and Gandalf) are stoners. Was Jackson actually toking up when he wrote that into the film?

Maybe the reason I don't like the LOTR films is because I don't smoke marijuana.

I doubt that's the reason.  But it probably wouldn't hurt!  ;)

Natureboy

Torgo's pizza,

I read the Troll 2 clues, but I was wondering why that was put in one of the clues.  Aside from the Harry Potter guesses (which were way off), I don't understand having concrete clues that pointed to Troll 2.  Why do that?  We had 50 to 60 members beating their brains out trying to figure out the next Trax, but the Troll clues really threw a lot of people off.

I am not unpset or anything, but that was a real red herring that messed us up for at least 20 or so pages.

Just curious.

These contests have been full of red herrings.  What do you think penguins eat anyway? :)

Does anyone know what the run time on the theatrical version is? The version Netflix has says its 178 minutes. I just wanted to make sure that was the right version.

178 mins it is - It works for BOTH the original theatrical release, and the rereleased theatrical release which is a double-sided disc. And the rifftrax accounts for BOTH so don't worry bout none, ya'll =)

Out of interest, what's the difference between the two? Why could they fit it on one disc back then and now two?

The LOTR movies were and are insanely overrated so I say riff on Mike. Though I'm sure he'll go easy being the Tolkien fan he is.

Still "Clerks 2" did the best job of popping the Middle-earth geek bubble. 4 hours of people walking!
