Yeah, like Videodrome.  :)

Yeah, and while we're at it, when are they going to riff The Wizard? :)

But, at any point, does Fred Savage shove an NES cartridge into his gut? Somehow, I doubt it.

No, but he does something else with it. The extended edition is FILTHY.

Don't get me started on the "Powerglove." :D

As far as I'm concerned, at least it's not ANOTHER Star Trek.
PSSH! I'll take another Star Trek over this Matrix dribble Any Day!

We've had 4 Star Wars movies, 2 more Star Trek movies, and both Fantastic Four movies since the first Matrix riff.  This is really the only sequel that I wanted to see riffed.  And the only reason I want to see it is the 50 Agent Smith fight.  I actually don't want the third one riffed although I'm sure it will be eventually.

I just did a count and, with about a handful of exceptions, every Rifftrax could be classified as Sci-Fi/Fantasy or Action.  And the action is typically so over the top that it wouldn't be hard to argue that it meets a lot of criteria for fantasy.  I'm just pointing this out to help save on 20Q's.  I think it's a safe bet that it's one of these three just about every time.

The exceptions of course are Glitter, Crossroads, and Grey's Anatomy (with some horror stuff like The Grudge and Halloween... which are kinda sci-fi-y anyway).  Apologies to anyone else who figured this out.
So you consider Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey to be action or sci-fi?

Edgewriter

I could handle getting away from the action a bit and doing something Romancy. (SHould have done that for valentines anyway.)\ Still could do a short I guess. Something like Going on a date? Or Is it love?)

Why not do a chick flick like Sleepless in Seattle or even better, Fried Green Tomatoes?

I just want to see those particular films roasted.

BTW I checked and, still a heterosexual male.
Check out my epic fantasy series, The Bowl of Souls in Kindle and Paperback editions!

I'd have to go with the former. I mean, that ass did a lot of action.

I want to apologize to everyone everywhere for that comment.

Seriously, though, my knee-jerk reaction was to agree with mrbasehart, but then I realized that, over the past few months, I've been getting a very concentrated dose of Rifftrax. I'm kinda late on the bandwagon (my first riff was Lost), and I've done a lot to catch up since then. It's kind of a skewed sample.

Even still, I don't necessarily have a problem with it. Sci-fi is just ripe for the picking, and I speak as a true sci-fi fan. The one thing I learned from watching MST over the years was that a movie didn't just need to be bad, it needed to be interesting. The problem with a lot of other genres is that, even if they are bad but interesting (Because I Said So springs to mind; I have never loathed a movie so much yet I couldn't stop watching), they rely more on dialogue to carry them through, and that just doesn't seem as conducive to riffing as a more Eisensteinian movie that could be watched without any volume but still be more or less followable. It's got to be a very difficult trick and I commend our Riffmasters for it.

That said, give us Titanic.

I consider it fantasy.  I mean when you're dealing with a talking donkey with a cupid driving him by his elephantitisized ears, then wouldn't you agree?

Beats me. I thought they were good.
So if you like Matrix Reloaded then here are your likes:  waiting an hour for the first real action sequence, then when that action sequence comes it has no outcome relevant to the story... and you must also like slowing the pace of the movie to a halt for the sake of a sweaty drawn-out orgy.  I'll admit it has great action... but, I mean c'mon, what ELSE does it have?  Some more characters I guess.... but you have about 3 real personalities stretched over about 10.  Kudos for this movie getting riffed!

Oh!  And I'd like to sign up for "The Wizard" getting riffed, too.  "It's so bad."

I do agree, although I'd label it fantasy more for the whole woman-who's-never-had-sex-giving-birth thing, myself.

I'm one of the other few freaks who liked the later Matrix movies. What I dug about them was how they were a really neat re-telling of the archetypal Gnostic gospels. The Architect is sooooo the Demiurge. I also loved the car chase in Reloaded. I thought it ranked up there with the great car chases in cinematic history, such as Bullitt, To Live and Die in L.A., and Ronin. Lesser than those to be sure, but certainly better than anything in Transformers (I mean, c'mon, wouldn't you think a movie about robotic cars would have at least one good car chase that lasted for longer than a minute?). I always got the impression people didn't like the later Matrices(?) because the first one was such a hit. Of course, I can't wait for this Riff. I'm sure I'll still mess 'em laughing.

No fantasy there.  There's a minuscule chance of getting preggers without actual insertion.  So, perhaps she wasn't really chaste, she was just using Bill Clinton's definition of sex.

but I'd really like to see a bit more variety in the titles that are chosen.
Um, there's a whole YEAR'S worth of Rifftrax to look forward to. That's bound to be at least 24 titles. This movie simply HAD to be done, and I think people are more excited for this than for something they never thought of, like Mad Dog and Glory. Also people are going to be more excited about something they own, rather than, say, Mystic Pizza.

Yeah, I've always said what the Bible needed was more car chases.

Let us read from the Book of Smokey, chapter 3, verses 2 and 1,  "Lo, when the brothers of blue have made the connection with the Gaul, the days of thunder will come with all haste and furiousness."

Natureboy

This choice is worth it just to hear Kevin call the Merovingian a smug French bastard.  I do like this movie or I did when I saw it at the theater because I thought they were setting up a killer movie and a big pay-off in Revolutions (which they didn't).   It is just disappointing now, considering the third movie was complete crap.

I agree. When a film is really popular, sometimes it builds up expectations that, for some fans, it cannot possibly live up to. As a complete work, I personally find the trilogy to be quite entertaining and successful. :)
