The Lurker

That's apparently not her normal speaking voice.  It does make me wonder why the movie had a sequel.

SJP

I saw her at a March of Dimes event way back in the 90s, when I was but a wee lad who also had a thing for her.  Yeah, when she talked, she definitely didn't sound like she does in that movie.

On the other hand, while I appreciate what she did for the organization and she was certainly just as lovely and friendly-seeming in person (even though I wasn't standing as close as I would've liked), she was not what I would call the world's greatest public speaker.  I think she winged her speech, and it showed.  But hey, still got me walking...not very far, but I chalk that up to my relative fitness level at the time and not motivation. ;)

Mr. B Natural. One of the all-time classics!

So is there a reason Mr. B is played by a woman? Obviously it's influenced by Peter Pan. But the only reason Peter Pan was traditionally played by a woman is because way back in the early days the flying rigs weren't, um...kind...to men. But that's not true anymore, and there is no scene where Mr. B Natural flies. So why do that casting?

Pak-Man

And it's not like Mr. B is the established character Peter Pan is. Wouldn't Ms. B Natural have worked just as well?

Seems like it. Especially given how the actress purposely pitches her voice high, and is wearing lipstick. So it's not like they are trying to hide it.

Mighty Jack.

While there are some dull stinkers like "Ring of Terror", "The Starfighters" and the infamous "Manos". They're made up by some skillful riffing. IMHO this didn't do it for me. I found it hard to watch at times.

But for no reason at all I revisit this now and then.

Isn't that one of the ones that is two episodes of a series pushed together to make a movie? I think it's largely really really confusing because of that.

There are a few, "Master Ninja" and "Fugitive Alien" to name a few. I enjoyed both. But Mighty Jack was a though one to sit through the first time I watched it. But yeah, this Sandy Frank gem was hard to follow due to it's crappy editing.

Johnny Unusual

Yeah, it's really dull as all get out.  Say what you will about the Fugitive Alien movies, at least there's some soap opera-style melodrama that's mildly interesting.

Pak-Man

I kept wanting Mighty Jack to turn into a merging-giant-robot style show. All the trappings were there, but it just never goes anywhere interesting...

fenfool

Prince of Space.  I liked it very much!

Johnny Unusual

It's hard not to.  I felt that the show's ability to riff on Japanese films increased greatly in season 8.

Pak-Man

Got through the first half of Outlaw of Gor last night and will be watching the rest tonight, if all goes well.

How is this movie not more infamous among MST3K episodes? It's a perfect storm of cheesiness.

SJP

I thought it was at least mildly popular.  That and Delta Knights I consider high points in the b-grade fantasy market that they did.

I just wish I could remember the main character's name...;)

Outlaw of Gor might actually be better than the source material it's based on.
