I'm just curious to see how many Rifftrax Director's cuts will seep out after this...not that I'm implying anything ^cough, looks away^

Fill in the few blank spaces with Rifftrax DIY sound bytes?

FBX

I'd rather there was dead air than shit thrown at a wall. That said I haven't seen this one yet, but the sample sure makes it tempting.

Maybe next go around the writing could be done into stages- rather than taking everyone all as one, you take a bunch, then let everyone know where things are getting weak and go through another round.

Minnesota

Well if people are still 'on the fence' about this one, the sample doesn't even do the full Rifftrax justice. Its hands down one of the best Rifftrax yet (in my opinion).

See, I'd much rather lame filler than dead air. Because the dead air is the dead air of Batman & Robin, which is the deadest air there is. I specifically went back and wrote riffs for the action scenes because I knew people would be struck mute at the pointlessness of it all, as I was on the first try. I did get a large part of the pointless motorcycle race in.

Wiseblood

It started off well enough when the jokes were relatively frequent but towards the end all the dead air made it a bit of a chore to sit through.

Phantom of Krankor

Yeah, the gaps were a big problem. However, most of the riffs were simply HILARIOUS! I was in stitches during the "Um, we're rolling Ms. Thurman" jokes.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

RVR II

The gaps were noticeable and I threw in my own during them, but The Hard Work from the Forum Payed Off!!

Yeah, I don't know why they put two of them in. The first one was mine.

QuoteMy favorite part was probably Disembaudio saying, "Tonight... Hell... Free...zes o-ver!" That just cracked me the hell up. WTF! lol, etc. Best Disembaudio line I've ever heard.

I loved that, too. It would have made it better if Dis had done the laugh as part of the sync line, too.

Did anybody notice they DIDN'T change the intro and it still says "We make fun of them"?

They probably felt this movie was "worthy" of the old slogan. :D

I totally agree. I think it is worse than just watching the movie itself the whole way through (now there is a relative statement!), because you feel the safety of the Rifftrax letting go. When the dead air parts happened I felt like Willie in Temple of Doom when she is being lowered in the cage over a lava pit.

Did anyone else check to make sure the file hadn't paused accidentally?

bratpop

I just kept saying, "Riff! Come on, riff! Where are the riffs??"

YES!  I did!  Like several times.  I could add another rant about the gaps near the end, but I won't (not right now anyway).  But the one gap that I was astounded by was when the Batmobile and Robin's motorcycle were driven down the statue's arm chasing Mr. Freeze.  It was like a whole empty sequence that was bookended by heavy riffing.  What's more astounding was that that sequence was accelerated in ridiculousness from the scenes before and after it, so I'm sure there were plenty of jokes available.  Having ranted on that, this is still easily a Top 10 rifftrax where the good heavily outweighs the bad.

bratpop

Yeah, it was like they were sitting there, in imaginary improvised riff land, thinking, "Nope, there's nothing weird or silly about this that we could make fun of. In fact, we are quite enjoying it! Why didn't they have a sequel and why couldn't it be longer?"

It took me out of the fantasy that Mike, Kevin and Bill were riffing this movie. Actually, I called them up several times just to make sure they hadn't died. They had to keep informing me that this is taped, not live.
