"What happened to MY thread?"

Killing time until more information about you and your movie comes out.

Hey, Torgos, can we get this thread merged with this one?

<sniff> I'm deeply hurt......

What I meant to say was "Could we have that thread merged into this one?"  ;)

Burton's Batman came closest.  And it left out all the boring details about how you make a cowl by buying different pieces from different companies through front companies.... unlike a recent retelling.   ::)  Wayne's a billionaire - he found a way to do it and he can afford it.  I don't need a minute-by-minute account of how he managed all these little details.

I liked those little touches in Batman Begins - they made it feel more authentic. Anyway, I have nothing but bile for Tim Burton's Batman. He had Bruce Wayne sleep hanging upside down in just one of countless examples of Burton having no understanding of the character.

Yeah, but just for once couldn't the movie start with the hero already in business and then tell the origin in flashback?

I think the green arrow movie will be like that if they get it off the ground, the plot is about Oliver Queen getting arrested and thrown in a maximum security prison and having to use his skills to survive.  I think they'll have to have a bunch of flashbacks in it with him making a bow out of bits in the prison - flashback to the island, him getting in a fight - flashback to training, etc could work out well.

As cool as "Supermax" sounds, it'll never happen as a movie. A comics miniseries, probably, maybe even a animated direct-to-DVD, but never a feature film. It's just too cool a concept.

So in Supermax is it the Green Arrow who is thrown into prison or Oliver Queen?

Uh, I'm not sure...I just assumed that one of the police officers would take off his little mask thingy at some point...

Like anyone in Star City could possibly look at Green Arrow and not guess he was Ollie. He even wears green most of the time. Maybe if the beard was false, I'd believe it, but he has a worse disguise than Clark Kent. Anyway, they way I've heard it, somebody frames Green Arrow, the cops arrest him - mostly because Ollie doesn't want to hurt any cops - they throw him in a supermax prison full of B and C-level villains, many of whom Ollie put there, and he has to enlist the help of some of them to break out, stop the real bad guy, and clear his name.

But he's also a politician right? (got to say my familiarity with Green Arrow is not so great) Theres some incarceration potential there.

Only very very recently. It was an interesting new wrinkle for the character, as he's always been vocally left-wing politically, but being mayor wasn't a huge part of the character.

Okay.....I'm watching Letterman right now and he's interviewing Seth Rogan who's starring in this movie Superbad....

Please tell me that I didn't hear what I thought I did....that this Stepher Furst look-a-like's next starring role is going to be The Green Hornet?!?!?!?

It's true. I like Seth Rogen, but I don't see how this can anything but goofy, which isn't neccesarily a bad thing, but they keep insisting it'll be serious.

Tripe

Oh he looks more hurt than angry. Poor Iron Man :'(

That wasn't him sleeping.  That's Inversion Therapy.

Besides the insomnia he probably had can you imagine the back problems you'd get carrying around that armor/suit could cause.  It was realistic.

It was just kind of ironic that a therapy like that is also bat-like behavior.

I dunno; I find that bit a little too "oh, look at this Great Visual Joke! 'Cuz he's the BATman! Get it?"

That is a completely logical explanation, but we all know it's bullshit. Burton just thought it would be funny.
