I've always wondered how to make Denise Richards horny... I guess now that I know, I'll have to give it a try!   :highfive:

Well, she was married to Charlie Sheen, hm, wait... bad example...

Threesome in a hot tub! Come on, you guys fail the Richards trivia test....

The threesome was in the hotel room.  The hot tub was just a lesbian scene.  And it wasn't a hot tub, it was a pool.  So I guess you fail too.

I learned yet another reason to avoid footballs and green plastic violins.

Seriously, that guy acts like he has roofies in a holster.

They make holsters for roofies?  That could really up my game.

That's why the female cadet is kicked out over the guy getting shot in the head in the training drill, but Rico, who was actually ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE for it, is given a pass.

Actually, I misunderstood that.  When the commanding officer said "We've lost 3 cadets already over this," I thought he meant that 3 cadets were so shaken up they couldn't continue and had to leave.  And the girl cadet we see crying as she walks away with her stuff was one of them who'd cracked and couldn't take it anymore.
Flat, drab passion meanders across the screen!

Yup, that's pretty much what I thought too.

I learned that you can bring back a guy from the dead with green liquid and some robot healing things but apparently if a girl dies she gets her coffin ejected into space. What the hell, movie? Why do you have to be so misogynist?

What I didn't get was why she got a big funeral when over 300,000 troops had already died without such honors.
I wondered about that too, why she got a funeral like that. Although at least she didn't have the indignity of bagpipes to ruin it like poor Spock did.

The misogynist aspect I thought was clearly done on purpose as part of the "satire". That's why the female cadet is kicked out over the guy getting shot in the head in the training drill, but Rico, who was actually ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE for it, is given a pass.

I'm not sure it's fair to say Rico was "entirely responsible" for the death of the guy. He wanted to help the guy with the helmet trouble he had, the girl was the idiot who fired her gun blindly into the guy's face.  I doubt his helmet would have offered much protection even if he still had it on.

Satellite of Love

Well I learned, that I should switch to a different phone/cable company. AT&T still drop calls in the future lol!

I learned that the guys are still made at Delta, too...

If there's one thing I learned from this movie, it's that armor provides no protection whatsoever. I mean, the bugs slice through it like a hot knife through butter. So seriously, would that helmet have stopped a futuristic assault rifle to the face?

Wait, Mike, Bill and Kevin are actually artificial creations made by the airline Delta?
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

Hmmm, they are "fixtures", so maybe they were made by that Delta?

Here are some things I "learned" (or can remember since I'm late to the party  :P ) :

There apparently is a difference between "citizen" and "civilian".  ???
Even in the future (and why don't they tell us what year it is????), armies will still be using primitive bullets and rapid fire guns even though having developed destructive and effective nuclear grenades!!! Sorry, that fact really annoyed me during the movie.
All you need to recover from a serious leg injury is yucky algae water and a robot.
You will still have complete function of your shoulder despite having it nearly severed by a bug leg!!!  ???
There are no stalking laws in the "Federation".  ::)
There are still chauvinistic pigs in the future.

And that's about all I can remember right now.

Oh. Somehow, I still haven't seen Wild Things, even though I was a college student when that came out.

It's pretty much crap, but worth watching for the small sections that have Bill Murray. They had a nice set of flashback/recap clips during the end credits.

:D I actually flew Delta into Nashville!
