Isn't a rock hero and a Douche Bag the same thing?  Seems like dead on casting to me.

Not in every case, but I never gave a flying poop about Kurt Cobain. He was a junkie crybaby with the singing voice of a cat with its tail caught in a door.

That's quite an in depth analysis.

Actually, now that I think about it, a Cobain biopic could be quite interesting. I wonder, is Pattinson a poor enough singer for the role, though?  ;D

Ok, phew, cuz I thought I was gonna have to take a big steaming, indignant dump on Japanese Anime.

Didn't the producers of Dragonball Z already do that?

They can get Kristen Stewart to play Courtney Hole, then all the Twihards will rush out to see it and make the movie a huge financial success. At least that might explain all the 14 year olds I see wearing Nirvana t-shirts.

You're childhood was asking for it. Walking around in such provocative shorts.

That shouldn't have made me laugh as much as it did.

I guess of you stretched out Cobain like Mr. Fantastic (him being like 4'6" and all) then hit him in the face with a frying pan, I could see the resemblance.

I've learned that even in supremely crappy movies Dakota Fanning shines like a burning diamond. That girl is going places.

That's weird, I only remember her pretending trying to kill somebody with her mind by staring intently. She is about as memorable as the rest of the movie to me.

She probably got paid millions to wear what looks to be a Beadazzled potato sack, ride an elevator, and stare at the camera in an attempt to save on SFX.

As if I needed another reason to wish I was born a dainty blonde girl  :(

Here's the word from Courtney Love's manager:

The web is abuzz today with a tabloid report that Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson will portray the late Nirvana star Kurt Cobain in an upcoming biopic, and that Courtney Love wants Scarlett Johansson to play her -- but that's news to Courtney Love's manager.

"That's an amazing story, and the first I've heard of any of this," Jonathan Daniel tells SPIN.com about The Sun's report. "They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check and include a 'My First Photoshop' job as a 'mock up' to boot!"

Daniel says the idea of this film was discussed before he began working with Love, and its working title is Heavier Than Heaven, not All Apologies, as The Sun reported. A production deal with Universal does exist, however.

And with regard to the purported casting: "Courtney likes Scarlett Johanssen as an actress and as a person, so it wouldn't surprise me if she wanted her to play her," Daniel says. "I'm not sure she knows who R Patz is, but he sure is cute."

The hubbub comes 16 years and a day after Cobain's body was discovered in his Seattle home.

Love, meanwhile, is back in action with her band, Hole, and their first album in over a decade, Nobody's Daughter, comes out April 23, and she's set for four shows that week in Los Angeles (April 22-23) and New York (April 27-28).

Check out SPIN's March cover story on the resurgent frontwoman, and read our review of Hole's first U.S. show.

Basically, it's not confirmed, and most likely bullshit.

It's entirely possible that Robert Pattinson is a decent actor. How would we know based on Twilight and that one Harry Potter movie? Plus, he already looks like a strung out junkie.

I've seen How to Be and The Haunted Airman and - IMHO - he's more than decent.  And word is that he's good in Remember Me (just that the film is less than)....

And he sings in How to Be...and he's not bad at that either.

And since therefore he seems to intentionally suck in the Twilight films, I'm a little bit impressed.

Not to defend Twilight, but why is Romeo and Juliet that much better?

It's not, really.  I hate "romances" where the couple doesn't end up together.  If I want to see romance gone wrong I'll look in the fucking mirror. LOL  Movies are supposed to be fantasies fulfilled.

Really?

Because 99% of all Romance movies are all peppy films where the couple ALWAYS ends up together. That is what makes them so boring. That is what I loved about Romeo and Juliet. It's moral was "if you are a douche bag, you cannot have nice things". So in a sense, it's the Anti-Twilight. Wish people in Israel and Palestine read those books, they might learn something...

I always thought the moral of Romeo & Juliet was about the danger of manipulative parents. Also, the importance of knowing CPR. Pretty ahead of his time on that one.
