Not to defend Twilight, but why is Romeo and Juliet that much better?

It's not, really.  I hate "romances" where the couple doesn't end up together.  If I want to see romance gone wrong I'll look in the fucking mirror. LOL  Movies are supposed to be fantasies fulfilled.

I learned that in the first movie nothing even touched Bella in that van accident but she needed a whole work up a the hospital while this movie she flies off a speeding motorcycle, bashes her head open and all she needs is a few dabs with a dirty t-shirt.

Hot guys can't take off their shirts while crouching.

The Cullens freaked out everyone at that school so much that no one wants to sit at "their table" even 4 months or more after they've left town.

It's perfectly normal to go fishing in a downpour?

BTW.....from "Ten Non-Romantic Things.."

Quote5. Rain-soaked fights. Only morons stand outside in the rain and have arguments. Everyone who has ever been outside in the rain and experienced what that feels like understands this instinctively. Therefore, when you place two people outside in the rain for their climactic argument, you tell me that they are morons, and once I realize that they are morons, I don't so much care whether their romance works out; I just hope they get both through the movie without sticking a fork into an electrical outlet. (Note to people currently fighting in the rain: DO NOT STICK A FORK INTO AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.)

Good point.  I never noticed that.

Follow up on the "werewolves don't swim" thing....

The vampire who has stalking you to exact bloody revenge is now swimming toward you....hit your head on a rock.  She'll go away, evidently.  And then, the werewolf who has been trying to kill her will be in the water next to you but he'll be human again so that he can't protect you and kill her.....

I learned that Shinji Ikari has more confidence in himself than anyone in this franchise.

Darth Geek

I bet if someone edited out all the pointless pausing, this movie would be half an hour long.

I assume that's because in the first case her overprotective father heard about it and forced her to the hospital and in the second case he never found out to overreact.  But that's probablty giving the movies too much credit.

Given how unresponsive he is thorugh this movie, I think between the first one and this one, he became a pod person.

I did notice the abundance of throw pillows...

I also learned that there is only one phone in all of Italy.

Quote from: Darth Geek on March 20, 2010, 09:08:11 PMI do find it funny that a girl so frail and pale she looks like she's already a vampire would bleed so much. Where is that blood going? It sure as hell isn't going to her brain.

Obviously it all flows to her arms.

And something else I learned...."Grounded for life" means, "Except to visit the guy who is always causing these problems in the first place - injuries of all types and severity, you running away from home, he disappears and a search party has to bring you out of the woods before you die of exposure and then you become catatonic for months, you disappearing for days at a time....."

I don't like R&J for other reasons, but I like lots of romance movies where the couple doesn't end up together, i.e. Roman Holiday.

Well, don't have to feel bad about not making it to the end of that movie now.   :P

I learned that if you jump into freezing cold water the best way to warm up is by rubbing yourself on a werewolf in a pickup truck.

I realized that the truck Bella drives is very appropriate. She is a dummy.
