I say there are levels of badness and goodness.

There are Good good movies. These are movies that are very well done. Like Braveheart, Aliens,  and such.

Next is Bad Good.. These are movies that fail to live up to their potential and are duds. Then there are good bad and bad bad movies. These are ones where the basic elements are there for a good movie, but it falls flat.

A Good bad movie is a movie that is so bad that it rebounds into being good. It is poorly made, poorly acted, filmed, etc. This would be stuff like Troll 2, Plan 9,  and The Room. So absurd and over the top bad acting, that you watch it to laugh at the movie and you get a sense of enjoyment out of watching.

Then there is the bad bad.. These are the movies that are unwatchable without assistance and jokes being made. Stuff like Manos, Beast of Yucca Flats,  and Red Zone Cuba 3 fall under this category. They are near unwatchable, bland, and very boring.

By bad I guess I mean the movie you hate the most . Yes there are so many types of bad movies but the rules for that are so complicated. For example one of my favorite movies ever is Flash Gorden . Thats right Flash Gorden. I will be the first to admit that it is a terrible movie but I cant help it. Its just so funny  and it has all that music by Queen . It just kicks. On the other hand......you have " Matrix" Big budget. Big "stars" .( Keanu Blagh)  Its just plain unwatchable crap. I mean I HATE that movie. So I would define bad here as shitty over poor quality.
also ....I like tranformers ! (doing the robot) go figure.

Impossible question, technically. But as far as movies I've had any reason to watch: Woody Allen's Interiors.

As far as unwatchable, Red Zone Cuba is the one I jump to in my mind.  It's like Andy Warhol's "Empire" but without the high concept behind it.

As far as movie I hate the most, I'd say anything directed by Jodie Foster (and probably Home For the Holidays is the worst offender).  Because nothing kicks in depression like one of her movies (acting is a completely different story).  There are few times in my life that compare to how depressed I get after watching Home For the Holidays.  I couldn't tell you why, but I just feel icky and gross and utterly sad sad sad sad.  Imagine my disappointment when I found out her next directing gig is "The Beaver" (the highest rated "blacklisted" script like 2 years in a row).  ::insert crude joke here::

And as far as a scale of what a bad movie is, I think XCKD did it best:

(Although I'd give the RiffTrax for it a solid 10).

I tried looking them up on IMDB and I had no luck finding them. Hell, I even found some really obscure Italian movies on IMDB despite the titles being in another language, so I'm guessing that was a faux pas or chalk it up to spelling error.

Crow T. Robot 666

What about bad bad bad, or bad bad bad bad?

The movie in the new Cinematic Titanic - The Alien Factor is pretty awful.

I'd say it ranks right up there with the worst films done by MST3K

Just watched the box at my friends. Blaggggggh! what a chud. The most ridiculous plot ever! Worst part is for the first few minutes it seemed really good. :clap:javascript:void(0); my vote for winner : the box

The 4 movies I've ever just turned off and given up on or walked out of the cinema during are: Forrest Gump, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Avengers and Breakfast at Tiffanys.  I don't think any of them were dull (I'd like to watch Avengers again actually) but they actively irritated me.

I was just watching "Forrest Gump" on AMC today and thinking A.) How much I love that movie, and B.) How much my age at the time affected how I view that movie.  Just wondering not so much what pissed you off (I have my guesses), but which part did it become too much?

I think it was when his girlfriend died but I can't be sure, I do remember looking at the exit during every lazy 'setting the era' montage and grimacing at the clunky symbolism.

Wow.  You had like 3mins of the movie left (if even that much!).   :D

I can think think of a million low budget troma-esque movies that barely qualify as a movies. So, instead I'm going with worst movie I ever saw in the theater.

Despite having seen MK2 and Batman & Robin in the theaters... the only one I actually walked out on was Scary Movie. After trying to force myself to laugh at the first half of the movie, I finally gave up and walked out. Shortly after walking out, my sister and I argued as to whose idea it was to see the movie.

I may have heard about that part later, I think it was pretty soon after the running thing?

No offence meant but in my opinion the worst move ever is never the last movie you saw, or probably even in the last 10.
