I would bet you some dollars dalem didn't know there was a 1964 version.

The problem with something like The Thin Red Line or The Box is that you can find some legitimate defenders of those movies, either here or some reputable critic.  But then there are movies far worse (So... The Thin Red Line was worse than Manos: The Hands of Fate or Old Dogs [whose target audience figured it was even too stupid for them]?).  Y'know, movies that get loads of Razzies.  Haven't seen Thin Red Line nor The Box but they at least seem like they have a modicum of competence, whereas something like The Bratz Movie looks like it has an intelligence in the negatives.

So let's be clear that picking "The Worst Movie" is very different from "A Really, Really, Really Bad Movie".  Maybe Thin Red Line IS the worst movie you've seen.  I dunno who you are.  I thought this was more or less trying to find a general consensus tho.

You're right, I didn't know about an earlier version.  And of course my opinion is completely subjective.  I can't tell you that you didn't like it, but for me there is literally nothing in that movie that I consider entertaining or valuable.  Manos is at least funny accidentally.

Oh!  And I just remembered one of the worst movies I've ever seen:  Snakes On A Train (by, yes, The Asylum).  I've seen a few of their other rip-offs, and this is the only one I felt dirty after watching.  There wasn't anything redemptive or entertaining about it.  It was just... bad.  The only part worth watching is the horribly CGI'd climax:

Holy Crap This guy remind-er-ed me of a whole other type of bad movie; THE SYFI original !!! Those are worse than either version thin red line the box manos or any thing else mentioned here. Any one seen Tremors 4 or was it 5 with the old west theme. Or what about Transmorphers!!!!

Bah, Tremors IV wasn't that bad. That's actually one of the few series where the later sequels tend to be fairly enjoyable (shoot, I'd say II is about as good as the first one).

Which is why typically...

Must not have been Abominable. That one was quite good.

I will stick by my declaration of The Time Guardian as worst movie ever made...
http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,17084.0.html

However, if you wish to honestly contest this nomination, that would mean having to actually watch some of the movie, and I would strongly advise against that.  You may never fully recover from the experience.  I still have nightmares about this steaming pool of "beer and italian food" vomit.

Time Guardian is a pretty shitty movie ..... :gouge:

Huffington Post did their own 9 Worst Movies Ever Made, and it really looks like they did their homework.  I didn't know any of them, but from the clips provided, they seem to beat any mention of anything in this thread.  Just imagine 90mins of the trailers provided.  In fact, save your soul and don't think about that.

I think I remember Tom Servo mentioning Truck Turner in an episode....

And I saw as much as Ben & Arthur as I could stomach.  It was exceptionally bad and pointless.

mrbasehart

I just saw Truck Turner.  It was quite good, as far as blaxploitation movies go.

The two in that list really highlights the problem I have with 'Christian movies', they'd all be hilarious if they weren't so bland.

Birddemic looks pretty awesome.

Truthfully, SyFy movies are probably the worst, since a non-sci-fi fan, or... uh, a non-SyFy fan (?) would find the ideas utterly preposterous, whereas fans would just be disappointed by crap CG and terrible execution. But, say, a boring drama could have its proponents. Nothing is worse than a movie which SOUNDS good, but is the opposite.

I'll take stupid over boring*
