Wasn't Catalina Caper a comedy?
the fact that you have to ask is proof enough that even if it was a comedy, its good riff material, because it was not funny. They did riff on how that one guy was supposed to be the funny sooky clumsy guy. But a comedy that is actually recognized as a comedy would not work for a riff

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet (because I don't have the attention span to search through this many pages) - but what about SPICE WORLD?
It WOULD finish up the "Annoying singers making movies" trilogy that Glitter and Crossroads started... :^)
but so would any Jennifer Lopez movie

Indeed, Catalina Caper was obviously trying to be the beach equivalent to Pink Panther, but it just came off flat and dull, except for Little Richard who came off completely baked.

My top choice, as of this second, would be the William Baldwin, Cindy Crawford unepic FAIR GAME!

It is awesome in all the ways it tries not to be.

Also, because I already own it.  Great Badfilm.  Funny thing, though.  I don't remember Cindy "starring" in any movies after this stinkburger.

Thank you, I've often thought of that one a few times  but couldn't recall the details, yeah that one looked pretty ripe for the riffing.

Hi, new here. I'm a long time MSTie.

Well, here's my list:

10. Inspector Gadget (What was once a nice cartoon turned into a kid's version of Robocop with Matthew Broderick.)

9. Rush Hour 2 (Screeching Chris Tucker.)

8. Godzilla USA (Once denied a clip of the movie to show on MST3K's blockbuster review, Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett may finally give this turkey the riffing it deserves.)

7. Mr. Holland's Opus (So corny that you could make enough ethanol to last a hundred years.)

6. Highlander 2 (It would have to be the re-edited version, since that's the one that seems readily available on DVD.  The original version had the stupid plot all in an effort to "logically" bring back the delightful Sean Connery.)

5. Tango and Cash (Absolutely unashamed '80s cop action movie.)

4. The Substitute (I like the movie but I wouldn't mind a RiffTrax of it.)

3. Mommie Dearest (A scene of a mother strangling her teenage daughter should not induce laughter, this movie proves that wrong.)

2. Flash Gordon (High camp, bad acting, need I say more?)

1. Transformers (A robot urinating on people is not my idea of Transformers.  Bay deserves the skewering of RiffTrax.  Be sure to bring in Kevin and Bill on this one.)

Ben Murphy

I can only think of 5 off the top of my head but I'd love to see any of these.

(In no particular order)

1. R.O.T.O.R. - it's not out on DVD at the moment but it's on cable a good bit... w/ extended scenes no less!!  Just read the comments on IMDB! http://imdb.com/title/tt0098156/

2. Armstrong - cornball action flick w/ lots of inexplicably sweaty people & an unrivaled topless chase scene through Russia... nuff said.  I bought this DVD just to riff it myself w/ friends..

3. Commando - I'm assuming this is already in the pipeline

4. Fade To Black - the one w/ Heather Locklear & Richard Dreyfuss... er, I mean Timother Busfield, you know, the poor man's Richard Dreyfuss

5. American Psycho 2 - This movie is a crime against the original but is oh so beautifully bad..  Plus it's got W. Shattner as an aging college prof. who's having affair(s) w/ students..  Pure Rifftrax GOLD!!

Has anybody suggested them doing a rifftrax for MST3K: The Movie?
I have heard Mike say in interviews that he would like to do a "meta" commentary for a special edition DVD, but the company that owns it treats it like a "cinematic suppository" (greatest bad movie description ever).
Perhaps he could do that through Rifftrax.

I haven't done one of these in a while:

1. Commando - I love this movie, it's just so cheesy.

2. Red Dawn - Another cheesy movie, but perhaps even better fodder for Rifftrax than Commando because it takes itself very seriously.

3. Batman & Robin - There was a contest on the boards awhile ago, and this movie won hands down.  When movies like this one are still unriffed, why is Raiders of the Lost Ark?

4. Ghost - Swayze movies are perfect for riffing.

5. Dirty Dancing - See above.

6. The Wizard of Oz - A classic that's not only enjoyable, but ripe for riffing.

7. Star Wars: A New Hope - If the guys can do the new trilogy, and Raiders of the Lost Ark, then I think it's only a matter of time for the original set.

8. Stone Cold - Brian Bosworth action movie with an amazingly over the top ending.  Lance Henrickson promptly walks away with the picture, despite only mustering the energy to display two emotions.

9. Blade Runner - It's one my favourite films, but if they're gonna pick good movies, I can think of few better than Blade Runner to tackle.

10.  Psycho - I'd like to see if the guys could tackle a Hitchcock movie, and this seems the best one to do.

I really like this idea.  Blade Runner is a classic of sci-fi and all, but there's still plenty of material.  The only problem is that as far as dvds go, the directors cut is out there more than the theatrical version (in fact I'm not sure the theatrical version is on dvd at all) and the directors cut took out so much riffworthy stuff, like the incredibly lame voice overs that Harrison performed with all the heart and emotion of reading your phone bill and wasn't there a tacked on happy ending too?

There are a few different cuts of the movie, yeah.  BUT! There's a brand new, all-singing all-dancing box set out at the end of the year, with all the cuts included.  It's even out on HD and Blu-Ray!

Ahh, well that'll make it all better.  Might be good to look into since I never got around to buying it otherwise.

here goes....

10.) Matrix Reloaded= for that lame-ass Merovingian character alone! The *&$#ing Jar Jar of the Matrix Trilogy.
9.) Hulk=Only Rifftrax can make the 30 minutes of footage that should have been cut from this film entertaining.
8.) House of Wax (2005)= I never saw this movie, because I hate Paris Hilton, But I would watch it with a Rifftrack, because I hate Paris Hilton.
7.) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer= Blatant product placement, and the FX department somehow forgot to show us a character that they were talking up through the entire film! Honestly, the best we can do with CGI in this day and age for Galactus is a CLOUD?
6.)Spider-Man 3= I know this isn't on DVD yet, but this bastard has it coming. Was this film secretly directed by Joel Schumacher?
5.)Highlander 2: The Quickening=The sign of a true 80's sequel..completely disregard the premise of the original film, and pull a bunch of random crap from your ass.
4.) King Kong Lives=Set almost 10 years after the 70's version of Kong, a university has kept Kong on giant respirators (He's not QUITE dead...), so they can implant an artificial heart the size of a MINI Cooper. BONUS: It also stars the guy who played Birdie on "The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo"!
3.) Death Race 2000 : Ladies & gentlemen, the very first film I downloaded into my IPOD! To be honest though, this movie pretty much riffs itself, but worth mention just the same. I mean, dude, the HAND grenade?
2.) The Mummy Returns=How do you make a can't miss sequel to a really great film? 3 steps. A.) add an annoying kid that the audience wants the Villains to kill, B.) redo the entire sandstorm-with-imhotep's-face-in-it-causes-a-plane-crash scene, except with a river and a ROCKET-BLIMP, and C.) Zombie Pygmies.

and my Number One film that I want to see Riffed?

FLASH! AH AHHHHH! SAVIOUR OF THE UNIVERSE!!

that's right the 80's version of Flash Gordon! BTW, am I the only one that thinks the new Flash Gordon series on Sci Fi absolutely sucks?

I know I'll think of more after I post this,

Later.

Everyone I know that saw this movie did it for one reason.  Wanting to see Paris Hilton die on screen.  Can't say I blame them, but it wasn't enough to get me into the theater, because the first part of it would be, you know, watching Paris Hilton.  I'd much rather get rid of her in a quiet discreet way, so we don't have to see or hear about her ever again.

Don't forget D)  Put the whole marketing campaign around the Rock, despite the fact that he's in the movie for like five minutes at the beginning, and replaced by a lame video game boss at the end.

Even with the star wars prequels a definite low point in ILM's history.
