Well, Victoria's Secret is congratulating that woman, despite no official confirmation that she's been cast: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=66641

Course, we could get what happened with Tricia Helfer - She was a Victoria's Secret model who actually turned out to be a hell of an actress.

But I don't have my hopes up.

Darth Geek

Well even if she does eventually become a good actress, she sure as hell isn't going to give a good performance when directed by Bay. He couldn't even get a good performance out of John Turturro!

Yeah, it's like Bay deliberately wants his characters to go full retard.

Crow T. Robot 666

Well it's not like she's replacing a great actress or anything.  As long as she remembers to look good she'll be fine.

CrowTeeRobot

[15:42] <CrowTeeRobot_> Ernest Borgnine AND Tim Conway in Transformers 3!
[15:42] <CrowTeeRobot_> Who somehow accidentally get teamed up with one of the autobots
[15:43] <Sideswipe> let me guess, a helicopter?
[15:48] <CrowTeeRobot_> That would be awesome
[15:48] <CrowTeeRobot_> or  a PT boat
[15:49] <CrowTeeRobot_> The back and forth between the three of them would be amazing
[15:50] <Sideswipe> who would play the Autobot?
[15:54] <CrowTeeRobot_> Sylvester Stallone
[15:55] <Sideswipe> haha
[15:55] <CrowTeeRobot_> This needs to be done
[15:55] <CrowTeeRobot_> Someoen contact Michael Bay
[15:55] <CrowTeeRobot_> And somebody else hit that Heidi Montag tramp with a semi
[15:57] <Sideswipe> agreed
[16:01] <CrowTeeRobot_> I so want this to happen
[16:01] <CrowTeeRobot_> I would actually pay my own money if it had those three
[16:02] <Sideswipe> haha
[16:05] <CrowTeeRobot_> Sly-copter: Weneedastopdadebdicons....
[16:05] <CrowTeeRobot_> Borgnine: What'd he say?
[16:06] <CrowTeeRobot_> Conway: I don't know! I don't speak crazy slurred speech alien robot!
[16:06] <Sideswipe> nice
[16:06] <CrowTeeRobot_> Of course, it awould all be in their particular cadences
[16:07] <CrowTeeRobot_> And they wouldn't really contribute to the plot, it'd just cut back to them every once in a while just flying around and bantering
[16:07] <CrowTeeRobot_> But at the end they'd be the ones who ultimately save the day
[16:07] <Sideswipe> haha
[16:08] <CrowTeeRobot_> Conway: We did it, we saved the day!
[16:08] <CrowTeeRobot_> Borgnine: We did what now? Where are we?
[16:09] <Sideswipe> Stallone:  hoooray
[16:10] <CrowTeeRobot_> Best thing ever
[16:10] <Sideswipe> then they get their own spin off movie
[16:10] <CrowTeeRobot_> I am now sad, knowing that this will never actually happen
[16:10] <CrowTeeRobot_> I would wait in line for tickets to that spin off
[16:11] <Sideswipe> haha
[16:11] <Sideswipe> wow
[16:12] <CrowTeeRobot_> And whenever Sly shoots his miniguns, he would go "Duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh..."
[16:12] <CrowTeeRobot_> Making the machine gun noises
[16:12] <Sideswipe> hahaha
[16:14] <CrowTeeRobot_> THis needs to happen

Okay - Props to the writers for this - and only this - line (which I highlighted below):

QuoteUSA Today visited the set of Transformers 3 and got new details on the third film, opening in theaters on July 1, 2011. The newspaper confirmed it will be released in 3D.

Talking about the second film, director Michael Bay said, "I'll take some of the criticism" while standing at a set built to resemble a dilapidated nuclear reactor. "It was very hard to put (the sequel) together that quickly after the writers' strike (of 2007-08)."

Bay said that "This one really builds to a final crescendo. It's not three multiple endings... As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending."

"One thing we're getting rid of is what I call the dorky comedy," Bay added. So the twins, "They're basically gone," he said, though John Turturro returns for comic relief.

The newspaper says the new villain will be Shockwave, "the robot cyclops-turned-laser-cannon, who became dictator of their home world of Cybertron after the other Autobots and Decepticons journeyed to Earth."

According to USA Today, "The new film features Sam Witwicky (LaBeouf) taking his first tenuous steps into adulthood while remaining a reluctant human ally of Optimus Prime." "Shia has this great line: 'You know, I've saved the world twice, but I can't get a job,'" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said.

Transformers 3 centers around the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet's most dangerous secrets.

"The movie is more of a mystery," Bay said. "It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened."

Despite the fact anyone with 2 cents of a wit could write that line, it's still an amusing one.

And I'm gonna take a wild guess: JFK's Air Force One was an Autobot. Or he was one himself.

Don't you know that JFK shot himself.

No! No! JFK's assassination was faked! They dyed him black and he passed away courageously fighting a soul-sucking mummy!

Quote"The movie is more of a mystery," Bay said
More mysteriously appearing explosions.
In space.
The mystery that is the current bayformers plots.
And the profound mystery of why we continue to have hope for the movies.

You forgot the mystery of why Steven Spielberg is producing this junk (oh, if only he'd decided to DIRECT the movies instead...Though we probably still would've had Shia in that situation. *sigh*)

Eh, after Kingdom of the Crystal Skull I think it's quite obvious why Spielberg hired Bay. He has LOST it!

And yes, we would have had Shia. It was Spielberg's idea apparently to have the story focus around a boy and his first car. He just...doesn't get it... NOBODY GAVE A SHIT ABOUT SPIKE! In the 80s did they ever make Spike toys? I sure as hell don't remember any, and even if they did, I guarantee they didn't sell! Kids didn't identify with the kid/friend/pet of the giant cool robots, they identified with the giant cool robots! That stupid kid should have been the first thing cut out from the show during the movie script writing process. Second is the mass shifting (which they said they weren't going to have, but they did anyway). And third was the "scanning/instant form change" which if I recall was only in the animated movie, and only Omicron could do that.
The characters had to be redesigned since you can't cheat movement in photoreal CGI like you can 2D animation, but these overcomplicated scissor sculptures are inexcusable. These are supposed to be battle robots, it doesn't make any defensive sense to have so many critical moving pieces exposed to your attacker. The fact that it makes them blend in with each other during close quarter fighting and their environment doesn't help either.
