The Most Ridiculous Movie-Related Thing You've Heard

I just remembered something I said.  I was at the store with my friend and they were selling copies of "Apocalypto" at the check-out.  I seem to remember a sticker on the front saying something about the audio being dubbed in Mayan (or something like that).  The embarrassing part was that I found this astounding and explained to my friend (and everyone within earshot) that it was amazing that they'd go back and re-dub the whole movie in a bizarre langauage as I supposed the people it was based on would want to hear it in their original language.  The obvious point of embarrassment:  The movie was not "re-dubbed"; it was originally filmed in that language with English subtitles..... and I had seen the movie in theaters just a couple months before.

Doctor Who?

A friend of mine was upset about the redubbing of The Pasion  for the same reason.

Boy Gibson knows how to confuse people.

the other day, I was arguing with my dad that Guillermo del Toro directed the Lord of the Rings movies

It's an easy mistake to make........ right?

I thought Transformers was the movie that played most heavily to Michael Bay's strengths as a director. For better or worse.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you went into a Transformers move expecting one solitary thing more than giant robots wailing on each other, then the fault lies with your expectations.

   Thank you!!!

I'm less forgiving of fans who hated the movie than those who didn't have any previous connection to the franchise and hated it for reasons other than personalized expectations. The fans have forgotten that any content deeper than giant robots fighting with each other in the Transformers franchise is 1) rare, 2) not the original intent of Hasbro and 3) contained exclusively within the media it was presented (ie: Furman's material, fanfics, etc).

And darn it, Bay is good with explosions.

Sorry to swing this off topic again. Back on topic. I've said my peace.

Seeing himself.  Seriously, seeing his fat face is what did it.  He just thought of his blubbered-up self all over tv and then thought "Maybe I don't need to eat this dougnut."  His famous quote being "I didn't know three years working on hobbit movies would turn me into a hobbit." (not exact quote)

Did you see him on Leno?  He hates being thin.  Don't worry.  I bet he'll be back to Seth-Rogen-size again soon enough.  Just as soon as that Green Hornet check cashes.  ;)

Probably also helps that he can afford better food now - fresh stuff, better cuts of meat - and can pay a chef/nutrionist.

Here's an idea.  He can not finish this "version" of Green Hornet, take it out and burn it and he can start getting fat today!

Besides McG really hasn't done anything in a while -

Producing Chuck and Supernatural wins him a lot of points from me.

Yeah, love Chuck.  I got tired of Supernatural, but it was good for a while.  The first season of The OC was pretty awesome too.

I stand by my assertion that Indy IV, while not nearly as good as Raiders or Last Crusade, is a HELL of a lot more enjoyable than Temple of Doom.

I'd agree with that.  I saw "Temple of Doom" in the theaters when it was first released, and was rather disappointed with it.  And as time goes on, I like it less and less.  "Crystal Skull" is not great, but it's not as annoying either.  The scariest part of it is the implication that they're going to do some movies with Shia as the new adventurer.  But Harrison did okay (well, for his age...), and I liked seeing the Karen Allen character again.
