I think it's just a bit of silliness.
You know, if the space man puma thing turns out to be the correct religion, I for one will be very surprised.

Mike Nelson decided to unleash this upon the unsuspecting Facebook world today:

QuoteTake Rebecca Black's "Friday", stir in a little "Three Second Rule" and you've got "Selling is Service", featuring my new favorite character, Happy Pete.

If you watch nothing else the rest of your life, let it be this.

EDIT: And I see it was unleashed here a couple days before. Never mind. :^)

Someone really captured the essence of Happy Pete's walk:

I went to that store a couple years ago when I went to Alaska.  I just had to seek it out.

It was supposed to be a candy commercial... that became a love affair for the ages!

BathTub

Yeah that was pretty funny. Of course part of that is because portions of it are in English, I wonder why that is.

I think Japan finds English (and a lot of Western languages, particularly Spanish and French) very interesting as a whole.  As someone who watches a lot of anime, it's rare for a theme song not to contain some English words or phrases popped into otherwise Japanese songs.  Which sometimes leads to some weird use of English, such as in this theme song to one of my all time favourite series Hajime no Ippo.

It's a good intro on it's own, but also has some delightfully weird English phrases such as "I want to dive lost mind" and "Rolling go!"

It's like the candy is his penis.

Variety of Cells

Just realized that I never posted this video here.  I'm sure most of you already saw it as it was pretty big on the internet a few weeks ago.  But if you haven't, definitely give it a watch.

It's a music video for a new Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) single called This is America.  It's the first music video I've seen in a long long time that has seemed important.  The song itself is good, but the video adds a whole other layer of meaning.

(Cross posting because while discussion of the video could eventually fall into Dante's Inferno territory, the video itself doesn't necessarily need to be relegated to that area.)

I know this is an Onion video, but she's not wrong.
