This one was much better than the first episode. I laughed a lot. As a riffer, it made me think, man, I've got to up my game. Pearl and Co. weren't funny, but they never were (To be clear, it's the characters and writing that do nothing for me. I think Bill, Kevin, and Mary are doing their best). They STILL were better than Felicia Day, though. She's lucky she's got Patton backing her up.

I wish the other episode I watched today (the finale) was even a tenth as funny as this one.

Just watched Cry Wilderness. Very strong episode and HOLY SHIT, DID THIS FAMILY FILM JUST END WITH THE BAD GUY GETTING HIS EYES TORN OUT BY A BIRD, THEN HIM STAGGERING, BLINDED AND OVERWHELMED WITH PAIN, INTO NON-EXISTENCE?!

Also, I am a little disappointed that we didn't sit through the whole of the end credits (though that just be my weird hang-up), but I love that they let the stinger play out for as long as it did.

Ah, continuing the tradition of MST3K Pauls. This time it's Paul, the early years!

I've watched your riffs.  There is very little to 'up,' let me reassure you.  I wish the first episode (the only one I've watched so far) was even a tenth as funny as your Van Helsing riff.

Have yet to see the second episode, but everyone seems to be in agreement it is better than the pilot.  I have my fingers crossed.

It's the day before Easter and the "Happy Easter" line cracked me up.

Well, thank you very much. That means a lot. Episode 2, though, really cracked me up.

I enjoyed Episode 2 a lot. I didn't expect the MaryJo, Kevin and Bill cameos to be so early in the season. They didn't really have anything to do in the segment, but it was still cool to see them.
Is it just the better cameras they are using now, or did the Bobo makeup look significantly worse than on the original show?

Well, I got fifteen minutes into this one.  And then shut it off.

I gave it the old college try, but I have to admit it to myself...the new season is not for me.  I do plan on watching it with a couple of my friends later this week to see if it helps, but I simply cannot get into it at all.  Nothing clicks for me, not the pacing, not the hosts, not the Mads (and I like Patton Oswalt!), not even jokes that I thought were decent jokes.  I'm glad everyone else seems to be enjoying it (and if you're digging it, go ahead and do so), but I personally find it unwatchable.

I will admit, though, Sasquatch screaming at the kid's window "YOUR FATHER IS IN DANGER!" was hilariously stupid.  I just wish I could enjoy the comedy around it.

sometimes it's better to shut it off and try again later.

I might be a contrarian here, but IMO, i thought that this episode was when they started gelling together, and the riffs really started to hit.  And to be be completely sappy, was the first indication that not only was the show back, but had finally became MST.

Pfft. You're no contrarian. If you were a contrarian, you'd say that you didn't laugh even once during this episode and it was the worst of Season 11!  :P

WhyDontTheyLook

I enjoyed this episode more overall than the first, as the movie was the right kind of odd and bad-but-still-fun for me, plus the riffing was good.  Though I'm still getting used to the more rapid-fire style; where the old show might be likened to watching a movie on a couch with some wisecracking friends, now these friends are super-caffeinated. (Like I'm one to talk.  :) )

The host segments in this one felt a bit less... finished, though.  None of them really clicked with me this time around.

I'm watching this again with my mom. The riffing is really good in this one!
