I'm sorry, until they decide to make that Moon Knight/Mark Hazzard: MERC/Nomad crossover that everyone has been clamoring for, Marvel is really dropping the ball. ;)

Oh Hell yes!

Seriously though, some people have been complaining "OMG, all teh Star Wars movies and spin-offs, omg! All the Superhero movies and spin-offs! There's too many of temz!"

Here's my honest appraisal of things: All these Star Wars movies? Comic book movies? As long as a good majority of them are decent films, it's still my dream come true to see all these characters on the big screen along with some Star Wars movies that have a very good chance of being damn good. To be frank, in a year where I have more optimism about the future of Star Wars than ever, I'm still struggling with thoughts about depression and suicide. Nerds like me who can't get laid to save our lives need those kinds of big, mind-blowing, intensely satisfying diversions! So what if we get a new Star Wars movie every year? So what if we're bombarded with a new superhero movie every week of the summer for the next 15 years? I don't care! I'm happy! I want to see all these characters who are more alive than ever and give their graphic novel counterparts more credit as story-telling devices. I'm happy, because to me, it feels like my desires and everything I've ever wanted as a kid is now being validated.

People seem to forget they can just not see movies that come out and that nobody will make them.

"A thing I like that there was no chance would ever continue until recently is now continuing but it doesn't meet my exact personal specifications so fuck this"

- how I read any complaint about MST3k (or Star Wars or Ghostbusters)

Oh, I'm gonna see this. Today. I gotta see how bad this turkey is.

It doesn't usually anger me when a bad movie is made. In this case I feel bad for all the wasted resources. I feel bad for the amazing actors, and I hope that they can recover from it.  It bothers me that studio execs are so tone def that they don't know we're not totally in love with FF, and we definitely don't like origin stories anymore.

Never good when the director essentially says "yeah, this is not that great" & blames the studio for screwing it up.

Now... if the rights go back to Marvel, I see one of two things happening: 1) The good route... the Fantastic Four appearing as support characters in Avengers Infinity War parts 1 and 2, Thor: Ragnarok, etc, or... 2) The Cynical route, where Nick Fury, in a future movie says "You need The Fantastic four? Forget about them, they died somewhere, get someone else, Bye!".

Saw the FF movie this afternoon... I guess I just don't get the Razzie-lock status. Sure, it's a bit of the slog through the second act, the color palette is muted and dull, featuring all the exciting grays and browns you'd expect to find at secret underground labs, barren rock planets and junkyards which make up all three locations shown in the film... But there wasn't any painfully bad dialog or awkward scenes or over the top acting. There could have been a bit more action during the final act, but overall I guess the worst thing you could say is that it's forgettable. It certainly wasn't something that screamed "this MUST be riffed!".

Of course, I don't have any particular affinity for the source material... so fans of the comics might easily find more to complain about. And in the interest of full disclosure, I enjoyed the Alba/Chiklis FF movies as the goofy popcorn fluff that they were. This one tries for a more serious tone, and generally succeeds, but with the unfortunate side effect of being a tad on the dull side.

Well, from what I read, the consensus is less "YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW BAD THIS IS" and more "This... is... so... dull."

That really puzzles me. I mean I personally think the other Fantastic Four movies are awful, but one word I probably would not use to describe them is dull.

I can't help, but wonder if FF is more suitable as a tv show.
