Beginning of the End
I can't believe this one hasn't been released in any of the DVD sets yet.

It's not!? I just assumed I had that in one of these box sets. Better pick up the single DVD. Are there any other episodes that are only availble as singles?

Not sure. I've just gotten the DVD sets, none of the singles.

SJP

There are quite a few of the singles that never made it to sets.  They are:

I Accuse My Parents
Beginning of the End
Hellcats
Red Zone Cuba (a personal favorite)
Eegah!
The Crawling Hand
Wild World of Batwoman (another favorite)

Brain That Wouldn't Die, Mitchell, and Manos: The Hands of Fate were also singles, but have since been re-released and are still in print.  Santa Claus vs. the Martians has also not made it to the volumes collections, but was released in The Essentials Set along with Manos again.

Technically, Amazing Colossal Man is a singles release if you count VHS, but that's a whole other fettle of kish.

Wow. I Accuse My Parents, Beginning of the End, and Eegah are three of my favorites. I had them on VHS and wasn't interested in getting them on DVD (At the time) so I just assumed Rhino had put them all in their early sets. Shout Factory still prints all those as singles, right?

SJP

I think Manos is the only one of the singles that Shout re-released on its own.  Mitchell and Brain thankfully got put as a double bill in a Volume set; the rest are still Rhino releases only.

Considering how Shout got the rights to release Volume 1 again, though, I'm pretty sure the day will come when they do manage to get those together in a neat little package all on their own.

Johnny Unusual

That was my first.  We didn't have MST3k in Canada on the TV, so I got it on video cassette.  I know it's not one of the episodes that appear on a lot of "best of" lists, but I think it's great.

So basically this guy is fooled into working for obviously evil people about as easily as the kid in I Accuse My Parents. ? Why are we supposed to like this idiot again?
And the girl is horribly irresponsible, she's not very likeable either.

EDIT: Ugh. Just finished it. This movie is LAAAAME! Some people actually like this crap?
Riffing was good, though.
