I Just Finished Watching...

It's all stock footage and drama.  WHO will snuff it?  (Hopefully, whiny boy) It was NOT whiny boy.   Will the rest of the crew make it?  And how about those Ruskies, in their scrubbing bubble space ship, shining a flashlight across the void of space? LOL.  10-4 killer Peck.     A really bad, bad movie.

After watching Pumaman again tonight I realized something interesting. Something actually positive about this movie.
  In most movies with a "chosen one" type narrative, the hero is given tools that they need to complete their mission. But it's usually tools that there is no reason the mentor character, or many others, couldn't have just used themselves to defeat the villain. I'm thinking of Luke Skywalker, Harry Potter, etc.
  But in Pumaman, he is the only one that can use the belt and have the powers (lame though they may be). So I will give credit to this movie for actually doing a good job setting up why Vadinho doesn't just use the belt and defeat the bad guys himself.

Wow. When I finally got a copy of Alien from LA and was able to rewatch it for the first time since catching it exactly once on TV years ago, the last thing I expected was to pick up a wrestling reference that I would have MISSED at the time.

Mitchell!  The un-riffed version.  Amazing how many jokes I remember, without Joel/Mike and the Bots.  Lots of 3M commercials going through my head.

OK, a couple difference between the two versions.  The MST version, according to my memory, had Bo Derek write "Jerk!" on Mitchell's car.  In this version, she writes, "Bastard!"  Also, whenever sex between she and Mitchell is mentioned (shudder), they say "laid," not "slept with."  "First, he lays me, then he arrests me."  "Did you really lay that?"

Mitchell gets set up by Martin Balsam and John Saxon.  Mitchell follows Balsam and Merlin Olsen through Canyon Country (a creek). His car gets stuck. Saxon and some henchman appear in Dune Buggies.

Henchman gets out of buggy. Mitchel bludgeons him to death with a rock.  This is what you see in slow-motion during the opening titles.

Mitchell chases Saxon, both in dune buggies.  Saxon's buggy gently rolls over (it has roll bars, no problem.) The buggy explodes. Very funny!

There were NO Hamdingers.

I need to watch that again soon. It helped me last month when I was at a wrestling event. I always end up riffing when I watch wrestling live (I don't like to call it heckling, because I'm trying to rise above the idiots who just yell "you suck" or spout racist/sexist crap like the asshole that was behind me at this event.)

One of the wrestlers was actually going by the name John Saxon.

As soon as he was introduced: "I loved you in Nightmare on Elm Street!"

When he was about to lock up for the first time:  "Remember what Bruce Lee taught you!"

As he had his opponent in a headlock and random other people in the crowd were yelling things like "Kill him!" "Rip his head off!" etc:  "Shoot him in your living room like the burglar in the Joe Don Baker vehicle Mitchel!...That's right, I know John Saxon's filmography!"

I would have done it just for my own entertainment, but a lot of people around me got it.
