That costume, though, will not translate well on the screen. Comics are one thing, but the costume designer will have to be really careful that it doesn't look silly. I think it should be black, a simple, sleek body design, but the cape and collar have to be flourished to the max. That is his trademark. Gold and red, naturally...

Well, we'll see what they do... should be fun!

Yeah, it is going to be pretty difficult.

Here's a very funny review of the 70s TV show they tried. At one point he does have a costume like that for a brief bit, and it looks ludicrous. Of course, everything else about that movie is ludicrous too.

If they can make Loki's full costume with helmet look cool this should be easy

You are the Mad Magazine of your time.  What's that?  They still publish Mad Magazine?  Huh.  Go figure.

me? why thank you - and if not me, then we shall never speak of it again

Yeah, I guess you are right about that. He was a doctor... yeah, I was thinking of the old Kirby inking. He made everything look a bit bulkier with his bold inks.

This was maybe 40 years ago, and I am doing it from memory... one of my favourite Dr. Strange exclamations, "BY THE HOARY HOSTS OF HAGGOTH!!!"

I used to say it all the time... good stuff...

Did Joe Sinott ink those pages?  I love when he inks Kirby's pencils

Yeah, that art is stellar, no celestial pun intended

I wish Kirby could write the new Dr. Strange movie and make the dialogue all goofy-like

Did Kirby ever draw Strange?  I'm pretty sure Ditko did most of the work on that.

That works, the only alternatives I can think of would be Flash Gordon-era Timothy Dalton, Kiss of the Spider Woman-era Raul Julia and maybe Javier Bardem

I love the new found respect for keeping classic looks on characters. That looks fantastic.

Really enjoyed it.

The visuals were amazing - they did a great job of capturing that Steve Ditko lunacy. I think most of the characters were really well handled, although Night Nurse didn't get to do much.

It does suffer the same thing ALL Dr Strange I've ever read does: A prolonged battle, and then he just thinks 'oh yeah, I'll use the Eye of Agamotto.' And because they set no real limit to the magic, nothing really feels that important - like, just do a different spell, dude.

But, as always, they made a film I had great fun with. A worthy MCU addition.

There are a few great references tucked away in there that I didn't notice and read about later.

One for Runaways and one for the origin of Brother Voodoo!
FINE

BathTub

They certainly didn't hold back on the Psychadelic, and the 2 post credit sequences both actually set stuff up. Having a fight in reverse seemed to be something new graphically. Had fun.

I loved this movie!!! Seriously, better than most of the other Marvel movies, and I was really happy with Dr Strange's way of dealing with the big bad of the film, that had me and the whole theater in riotous laughter. It was pretty genius I thought

Yeah, the more I think about it the better it is. Even just the repeating of his ridiculous name over and over.

Went and saw it in 3D last night.  Really enjoyed it.  Kind of wish I had chosen the 4D experience just for the heck of it.

The scene in the beginning when he's removing the bullet.... that's my x-ray machine! It looked so beautiful! It was like a tv commercial! Long, tense moments while focused on screen shots and image quality! I'm so proud!
