Marvel has finally found its Doctor Strange.
I'm hearing Benedict Cumberbatch is the studio's choice for the superhero pic, and negotiations are about to begin. [/b

\Marvel has confirmed that he's still not confirmed, so we shall still have to wait and see.
FINE

Looks like Benedict Cumberpants is official. I think they should have gone with Vincent Price.

jonalame

I think they should have gone with Byron Orpheus.

It seems like an obvious choice but it is also a good one.  I've felt that Doc's origin (particularly the kind of dude he was before his accident) was never explored enough, but I always felt that his was a redemption story of a real arrogant asshole, but unlike a charismatic, arrogant guy like Stark, he never feels like he needs to bother charming people or gives a shit about the people he works on.  So, basically Sherlock.  With less joy in his life.

I think they should have hired Doctor Orpheus to play him.

That's what I told my husband!

I call him something different all the time to see if anyone will correct me.

You are the Mad Magazine of your time.  What's that?  They still publish Mad Magazine?  Huh.  Go figure.

I don't know, he's so friggen' skinny. Doesn't seem like a good choice for Strange to me. But, what do I know. I read a few Strange comics as a kid, Loved the art hated the stories.

I hate magic. Much as Batman did whenever he had to deal with Entragon and Dr. Destiny, and all that crap...

He is a great actor, though... I am a witch who hates magic. An atheist who believes in all gods... a scientist who acknowledges all superstitions.... I am a paradox of myself.

So, listen to me, not at all.

By definition you cant be an atheist then.  You might as well say you are a vegetarian that regularly eats meat lovers pizzas.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I am a vegan that eats goats alive. I am a sick man, clearly... Imrahil is right about me.

Well, I prefer "paradoxical" perhaps "complex"? But certainly that term works as well...

Doctor Strange isn't exactly a muscle man.  Skinny doesn't seem to be a problem for a surgeon-turned-magician.  And I like Strange stories, but I agree the art is fantastic.

Yeah, I guess you are right about that. He was a doctor... yeah, I was thinking of the old Kirby inking. He made everything look a bit bulkier with his bold inks.

This was maybe 40 years ago, and I am doing it from memory... one of my favourite Dr. Strange exclamations, "BY THE HOARY HOSTS OF HAGGOTH!!!"

I used to say it all the time... good stuff...
