Just got back from the show.  Absolutely hilarious.  I had never seen Sharknado before and it was everything I dreamed it could be.  The special effects in Sharknado makes Birdemic look like The Matrix.  There was a hearty applause when the show was over (and I wasn't even in Minnesota).  Can't wait for Godzilla and Anaconda.

Really? I thought the production values here were WAY better than Birdemic's. Not to say that's really much of a compliment. But, you just can't top Birdemic. . . or. . . bottom it. . . or. . . WHATEVER!
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

Okay, you are right, but it was pretty bad.

Better than Birdemic, yes. But still really really bad.

I enjoyed the riff a lot. While the movie isn't one that I would have wanted them to riff, they knocked it out of the park. There were a few times when people were laughing so hard at the movie itself you couldn't hear them talking, though.

The theater in Memphis was nearly, if not literally, sold out.

Crowd was loud- lots of laughing! Very funny riffing.  And of course, Sharknado is just damn'd funny itself.  To paraphrase fictional Jack Perkins, "I thought it was a sheer delight.  That was about as grand as a sharknado could get. AAAGH! That was about as painful as a cattle prod to the shoulder could get."

So, there was a technical issue during the Godzilla preview.  It happens, and it happened. I thought the guys improvised well during that part.  And, if one can't overlook a glitch after 25 of them making us laugh, then something is wrong. ;D    I'm speaking in general terms, not flaming anyone who posted here.  I think the people posting disappointment are doing so with respect, and their concerns should be noted for future Rifftrax.

I didn't mind the "previews" of Sharnado 2 or Godzilla.  Rifftrax is not a large corporation, so they probably have to do their "commercials" in front of we, the live audience.  I must say, I noticed people being surprised when they heard about Godzilla and Anaconda.    How they knew about Sharknado, but didn't know about Godzilla or Anaconda, is beyond me.  But, they didn't know, and that makes the "commercials" OK, in my opinion.

I had a great time.  If you didn't see last night's show, consider Tuesday's showing!

What I would buy early is if Fathom was going to be involved with the Monty Python live show simulcast a few days after Sharknado.

Yeah?

I was also at the Memphis show and it was fantastic.  I laughed more than I did at the last couple of live events.  Any reservations I had about the movie being too self-aware became obsolete as I sat in a theater full of people laughing hysterically at both the ridiculousness of the movie and the riffing.

As the guys were describing old-timey shorts that hypothesize "what if something didn't exist," I turned to my friend and "springs."  It was good to see Coilie again.

My brother asked why I bought these two months in advance and I was all "Shut up or because. Take your pick."

I think I forgot to tell you that you can't see it THAT many times all at once.

....sister, eh?
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

That's possibly the funniest thing I've read in my life.  ;D   That's a quote-worthy statement!

Once again Rifftrax has successfully broken my Dad. He couldn't believe that someone intentionally made a movie that bad. Guess it's a good think Dr. Forrester didn't get a hold of my dad.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.
