Now the question is:  will Jonathan Coulton be there live to help debut the new song?

;D

Darth Geek

Yes, hints please.
Can we at least know if this will be re-riffing something already done, or will it be new?

KidFlash

Also, does this mean no show in August, or...

are we getting a Rifftrax Live Death March of June/August/October/December?

(Somewhere, the writers are whimpering...)

KidFlash

Looks like the show has been moved to July 10, per the FB page.

(Guess that should cancel out the idea of four shows before the end of the year...)

Just 9 days after my birthday.  ;D

KidFlash

And sometime around the release of Shout's MST3k Volume 30, you'd think.

Thanks for the catch.

I am a Sharknado virgin, and was saving myself for such an occasion.  Can't wait!

ManUnderMask

Too bad some dick in the chat on the Youtube page ruined it for everyone about five minutes before the announcement.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

KidFlash

Good thing I didn't open the chat, instead watching via the Tumblr page.

I'm... not sure about this. Is there such a thing as too self-aware? That said, this is about as commercial as riffing gets, so good for them.

Wonder if this means there won't be a VOD?

KidFlash

One of my friends on FB put it this way: "Man, this really feels like a misstep to me. Sharknado is such low hanging fruit, and it was so obviously INTENTIONALLY bad, what's the point?"

I've got to agree. I'll still go to the show, of course, and I'd imagine it'll be really popular (just look at the reaction on the FB page)... but still.

Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

KidFlash

Thanks for that, Thrash (and Conor)

I appreciate that they're acknowledging people's concerns, and can't really argue with Conor's rationale.

Hmm, Conor's consciousness of internet criticism has reached a point where he can anticipate the backlash and address it before it happens.

Boys, we need new and fresh complaints, STAT!
