Hmmmmm, does show promise.

Don't read comics, but the theme of this is both sides team up to fight some creature from space?

The Sentinals?  No they're made by the Gubberment.

Wolverine is sent back in time to stop the X-men fucking up the past from infighting.

Just saw it.  Enjoyed it quite a lot, though even not knowing what the title of the already-planned next film is called, I was able to basically guess what the end-credits teaser would be.

Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Saw it last night, great movie, really enjoyed it. Probably the best of the X-Men movies after First Class. JLaw all bendy and nude as Mystique?  Great.  Quicksilver's scene coming out of the Pentagon elevator? Probably the best scene in the franchise and, dare I say, from any comic-book movie.

The movie still has some flaws, though. But I won't get into them here and now.  Dinklage does a great job in his role too.

I loved everything with Quicksilver. And yes, the scene with him stopping the bullets was the best in the movie. After that, I was just imagining the producers of the new Flash TV show watching it and going "SONOFABITCH!"

Sideswipe

Damn, those mutant bastards in the future got fuckin brutalized by those Sentinels!

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Also, yeah, agree completely about Quicksilver.  He's pretty much the best thing in the movie by popular acclamation, right?

Just the first and last few minutes with the sentinels, really.  The rest I would say is ok, but those future scenes I could see scaring kids.  Baring the Wolverass shot.  By the way, thank you for that, movie.

I really like how they depicted Quicksilver's super speed as him essentially disappearing. It looks so much better that the silly looking red blur that they keep trying to do with Flash.

Yeah,  this was a brutal movie.

They clearly had fun just slaughtering the X-Men, as it's not something they would get to portray as happening very often.

I was impressed at just how much of the cast they got back. I know I wasn't the only person surprised to see Cyclops at the end.

I agree with those who say Quicksilver was the best part of the movie. Those scenes with him were wonderful, and I'm trying to decide whether I'm disappointed that he wasn't in the movie more or if he was in it for the perfect amount of time and any more might have been overkill. That scene in the Pentagon was just magical and so well done.

Also the Pong game he was playing at his house came from Old Sled Works, an antique shop/old timey arcade that isn't far from where we live. We've been there several times and it's one of our favorite places in Pennsylvania. (They have a website but their Facebook page is more active.) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Old-Sled-Works/64240317387

The rest of the movie was enjoyable, not the best X-Men movie I've seen (looking at you X-2) but not the worst (looking at you X-3). Trask was kind of a bland and generic bad guy but I thought Peter Dinklage did well with such a one-note character. I also liked MacEvoy and Fassbender, those two have a lovely chemistry.

The Magneto effecting the bullet thing didn't make any sense to me. The bullet curved so it hit JFK. ...so it was going to miss anyway and then Magneto accidentally made it hit him? That doesn't jive with the incredible amount of control that he shows over his powers we see all throughout the movie.
I am also tired of seeing Magneto do these incredible feats, like lifting the stadium and in X3 the Golden Gate Bridge. It really just shows that Magneto DOESN'T NEED AN ARMY! He seems perfectly capable of doing anything he wants, up to and including taking over the world on his own. Hell, it's his own plans that seem to be his own undoing. Since had he just controlled the Sentinals remotely to go haywire and shoot into the crowd like ED-209 then Trask would have been discredited and the future would have been changed.  All he really did was PROVE TRASK RIGHT by showing how dangerous mutants were, out in the open, and on national TV.
I didn't buy that Mystique putting the gun down and not killing Trask really completely changed the future, since the president had still seen her threaten them, and Magneto proved to be more of a danger anyway. As soon as the event in Paris happened in the middle of the movie, the life or death of Trask is now irrelevant. Yet the movie kept acting like whether she kills one person makes all the difference. Originally killing Trask is what put the mutant threat out in the open, but now it's already out in the open.
