Anyone compare the video quality to the google video?  Is it better?  I had no sync issues with the old video but it does look like old worn out VHS...
I watched it last night.. Same quality IMO :-\

That's probably about as good as it's going to get, really. I mean, this is a 35-year-old show that is only available from VHS copies people made. It's not like we have access to the broadcast masters or anything. And even if we did, it wouldn't have the hilarious commercials.

Frankly i wonder if there is a studio copy left. For all we know George Lucas could have Burned the last copy in a Bomb Fire. While laughing like a Madman.

OK, thanks, no reason for me to buy it again then, I made a fancy DVD with the riffed and unriffed videos and a menu way back when, even took out most of the sync lines.

Well, D-War is missing the subs. No one has mentioned contacting RiffTrax about it. No one seems to have bought Red Dawn yet to comment on if the subs are present on that one.

I thought so. I am huge fan of Joel McHale and I had wanted him to guest riff for a long time.

Oh, God, this just totally reminded me I haven't paid my Bea Arthur Fan Club membership dues!

Thanks, guys.

I know it's a pain, but I did a Google search for the subs, guys, and there are ones floating around out there for the non-English parts. Don't know how well they work with this version and I also know it doesn't help with streaming, but... it might be an option.

I tried playing the Star Wars Holiday Special (burnable iso version) in VLC, but the aspect ratio is squished (tall/thin). I guess I can go into a menu option to stretch it back out, but does this happen to anyone else? Does it work in a regular dvd player? Thanks.

Road_Element

Yeah i notice that Too. But when i played the Vod File. It was in its normal 4:3 aspect ratio. After i burned it. It worked fine.

RVR II

I didn't even test it first.. Just burned and played in the DVD player and 'streched' the screen

David

I was kind of hoping they'd put back in these first 30 seconds they cut when they made it into an mp3. Ah well, I dug them back up for you fellow OCD completists!
