one more poster from japan.
Is that actually one of the Jaegers we haven't seen yet? Or did they arbitrarily change the design of the cool robot in the trailer to a shitty anime knockoff?

I like that Godzilla looks like he's singing.
EDIT: I just noticed the inclusion of Chucky on the chart. Nice touch.

I actually really like the Coverfield  Monster (I refuse to call it Clover  :P ), When we could actually SEE IT! #%@$& found footage movies.

Come to think of it, I'd like to see a found footage movie where the cameraman was a professional movie cameraman.

The Lurker

I like the idea behind the movie.  I though that the eyewitness angle was interesting, instead of it being another Godzilla clone.   I'm not sure the "movie" angle would work, unless it was a faux documentary, like Spinal Tap.

QuoteFandango reports that Pacific Rim accounts for 60% of Fandango's advance sales for the upcoming weekend, and it is currently outpacing World War Z at the same point in the release cycle. World War Z opened to $66.4 million. If Pacific Rim matches that haul it would be one of the summer's biggest surprises and it would silence pundits who are ready to pounce on the film.

Got back from a 10pm show a little while ago. If you don't see this in IMAX 3D, you're missing out. So good.

Compound

Just got back. Enjoyed it, but it was probably about 20 minutes too long. But one thing...

There was actually a scene in Pacific Rim that I had just seen two hours earlier... in Sharknado. I'm not joking. It's likely a huge coincidence, but nonetheless it was there.

Bob

Sharkado......that had the most horrible special effects I have seen in a movie made this century.   My dog could have done better.

I assume this movie will be better!

Relaxing Dragon

Caught it last night at the Metreon's mega-Imax. Love love loved it, exactly what I want out of a summer blockbuster directed by Del Toro. Still a bit too tired to get into details, but yeah, it actually exceeded my expectations a bit.

Darth Geek

So is this the first Guillermo Del Toro movie in a long time to not have Doug Jones?

KidFlash

Huh. Hadn't thought of that. Didn't see his name in the cast list.

Relaxing Dragon

I like to think he had Jones play one of the giant Kaiju organs still alive in the research tanks.
