I knew this day would come. One day.

You see, I sat in the Galleria theatre (in the suburbs of Buffalo) on opening weekend back in November of 1997 having a blast with the film. My fellow college freshmen and I were laughing at all of the jokes, and the way that the whole thing was being treated like satire. Sure, there are friends who feel that the movie just whizzes all over the book and what it stood for (not a surprise to note that they have military families), but those people, to put it mildly, are doodyheads.

I seriously can't wait for this.

Are you saying the film is tongue-in-cheek parody? Because that usually does't work well for rifftrax. Earnestness does (i.e. Twilight).

No, I haven't seen Starship Troopers.

FINE

RVR II

Starship Poopers is a pretty shitty flick and very ripe for Riffing :-X

STARSHIP TROOPERS is a pretty fun alien action film, and could work well with Rifftrax. It's the best of four films made. The last was an animated film. It was directed by the same man who made ROBOCOP and the original TOTAL RECALL.

Trying to secure the rights to TWILIGHT was a bad idea because I knew the studio would never give in since it still makes them so much money, and frankly I want better movies to be riffed. So here's hoping no to BIRDEMIC 2.

What? He's not in Starship Showers?

Pak-Man

I would totally watch Earnest Goes to War with a Hostile Alien Species.

As someone said in the other thread, it's essentially a 50s B-movie given a 90s A-movie budget. Or as a full-length propaganda film. Think of it as Why Study Industrial Arts? with bugs, guns and boobs. This is perfect riff material.

Everyone seems focused on the "boobs" in the movie. I recall it having far less than some of the other movies riffed (specifically The Room).... I remember the co-ed military shower (which wasn't that long of a scene, or sexualized really... just a co-ed mass shower room as dialogue occurred), a reeeeeally dark love scene that got cut short by an attack, and a quick shot of Dina Meyer taking off her top. Actually, I think the only boob shots are of Dina Meyer and only maybe 3 of them, the one really quick and another really dark.

Am I missing any?!? Are there just loads and loads of boobs in this movie and I'm just not remembering it?!?!  Or was that all people focused on simply because most of the guys who remember watching this movie were teenagers at the time and (like my friend Greg) this was one of the first R-rated movies they got into on their own?
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Um... yes? DON'T JUDGE ME.

Seriously, I think it's just because the live Riffs they've done have had no nudity whatsoever, and this is different.

I've noticed this about the movie in general (not riff-related) before though. People seem to equate ST with boobs just in general, and it always confuses me.

I guess it's the same reason I always equated Lost Highway with "Patricia Arquette nude"

Life was tough before the Internet, and that's all I need to say about that. :^)

I am perfectly capable of associating two distant hills on the horizon with Boobs. Don't see any issue here.

I am much more excited for the live riff now than if it was going to be twilight.  If the digital release doesn't occur I hope we get a studio MP3 for it.
