Double the laughs, Dash. Plus we can throw some plastic forks at them. Oops. Wrong riff. What should we throw at them?

P.S. why does the "quote" button not work for me in this or any other thread?

Buckets of blood? (Or glitter, I guess)

It's busted for everyone, but if you right click on the quote button and open it in a new tab it'll work.
FINE

It's officially over, at $264,860. Good luck with Summit/Lionsgate, guys!

The Snape

Yep, just made my 60$ donation yesterday. Bring on the Harpo roast!

Bob

And the $25 that the final pledge ends in?   That is MY $25 boys and girls, MINE!

You all may bow to Il Duce as you have time.

Did we make enough?

Hopefully we'll know soon.  But I still think the money isn't the issue and it's just a matter of Summit being a good sport and letting three guys rip their most popular franchise to shreds.

One could argue we did within hours of the Kickstarter given the "educated guess" the guys made at how much they needed. ;)

As said above, $250K+ is a very good chunk of money for a studio to make on a movie that's a few years old they're not likely selling many DVDs of anymore.  But, right now, it's just a matter of Summit/Lionsgate being good sports and letting the RT guys having the rights and striking a deal on percentages of ticket sales and stuff like that.  They have said they've already been in talks with them as well as their backup options.

So I've not seen any news on this in a while, last update(s) I got pretty much said that talks were still in works with Lionsgate as well as the other studios for the back-up.  Anything more going on in the front or is there just still talks?

TheUnabeefer

I was just thinking about this the other day... I figure no news means they have yet to get a "No f***ing way. Get out of my office."  so I'm just gonna take that as a good thing.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Finally an update today.  For those who've not yet seen the E-Mail, or didn't contribute so don't get the Kickstarter E-Mails there's good news and bad news.  The bad news is that Summit/Lionsgate still sees Twilight as a viable property and while were not totally against the idea they just thought it was "too soon" for this type of project.  So as a fall-back the guys will be Riffing "Starship Troopers" on the August 15 show. Tickets have yet to go on sale, Kickstarter contributors are to get preferential treatment on ticket sales.  As of yet they're not sure if the VOD will be available as the reward for contributors. They promise to make it happen and if not they'll make a viable compensation.

So it begins, the wait until August 15 for "Rifftrax Live!: Starship Troopers."
