Upped my contribution to $100 because dang it, "Rainbow Dash" is going to be on that theater screen.  :)

Seriously, this is just a fun thing to be part of.  I won't deny I will be a bit disappointed if they don't get Twilight, even though the other films on the list would be fun as well.  I really hope Summit is willing to be a good sport about this.

The Kickstarter ends next week, I suspect we'll hear the details of which show they secured the rights to not too long after then.  Remember, August is still over four months away.

I hope so.  I don't want this dragged out.  I would imagine they'd know soon if it going to happen or not.  It can't cost that much for a single, one time showing.  And I would hope Summit would tell them quickly if they're willing to allow this or not.

I saw the list and if they somehow can't get Twilight, I was torn between Super Mario Bros. (Bob Hoskins should be ashamed of himself) and Battleship. Those really stood out to me.  I just hope I have the cash just to able to attend.  :P

Darth Geek

I really want them to do Super Mario Brothers, too. I'm hoping since they are already talking to some of their Plan B companies, it may end up happening eventually even if they do riff Twilight Live.

Only 4 days left.  I'd really like to see it hit the quarter million dollar mark, but I don't think it's going to happen.

It's not unusual for a kickstarter to get a sudden rush in the last 2 days. People who clicked the option to be reminded when the kickstarter's coming to an end will be getting those notifications soon...

MrTorso

They really haven't been promoting it lately. If they had done some stretch goals or even keep talking about it a little bit, they might have raised more.

Maybe they feel confident that they have it in the bag?

All I know is that I need 30 people to donate about $800 a piece and my guess will be right on the nose.

Darth Geek

Yeah, they already surpassed their ititial goal by so much, I'm sure they feel confident that this proves interest and financial backing that will get the studios to pay attention.

My guess would be that if they can get the rights and do Twilight live, it will raise a lot of money, and raise their awareness to the public at large, allowing them to get other movies they want in the future.

Eh, the more than surpassed their goal in the first 24 hours and in the month the Kickstarter was active reached nearly a quarter-million dollars. They've been occasionally promoting it on Facebook as well as on the home page, I think they're good. I know that I've also been doing my part to promote it when I can on Facebook.  But, inside the last 48 or 24 hours they may make a final push to get some more money rather than suffocating people with Kickstarter reminders for the last month.

Yeah but stretch goals could have covered the NEXT live event too...
FINE

Rainbow Dash

Going to be closer to $250,000 than I thought.  About 40 hours to go and under $4,000.

Raistlan

The corner they're in with this Kickstarter is that they are going to try putting all extra money towards getting the rights for Twilight, so there really isn't an option of applying any of the money towards stretch goals until they have determined how much the rights to the movie they end up getting costs, which means that the funding leveled out fairly quickly without much impetus to jump up at any point.

One more good reason for this to happen: somewhere some true Twilight fan/fanatic(s) is/are bound to go to the live show without knowing what they are seeing and will totally freak out. I hope it happens in the theater I'm in.

Rainbow Dash

What if they end up being like those assholes that talk during the movie?
