While I loved comics when I was younger, I never got into Guardians of the Galaxy. I think all this Marvel comics into movies is an over-reach. While I really enjoyed Avengers, it was hardly above average as far as movies go. I have no idea why people loved it so much, but I also have no idea why people loved Transformers when all of them were terrible.

Avengers had a lot of build-up going into it that I'm sure helped immensely with it's success: all the individual hero movies brought in audiences, fairly big-name actors from diverse fans brought people, Whedon fans flocked to it, comic fans came to see it, and it was a decent movie. That doesn't mean studios can start throwing out any comic book movie and it will be an instant success, even if it's of similar quality. Avengers had huge plot holes and tons of cliches that have all been done before, but Avengers was just done with a slightly better script and better direction so I overlooked the glaring problems. I don't think lightening will strike twice.

Cast of 'The Avengers' to present at the Oscars this year
QuoteThe Avengers will assemble at the Oscars this year to present an award.

"The Avengers" cast members Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye), and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk) will join forces on stage at the Oscars on Sunday, February 24th, according to Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Missing from the Oscars lineup are Avengers Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor, no codename needed).

"The Avengers" was the biggest film of 2012, breaking box office records and leading almost immediately to both a sequel and a primetime television show in "S.H.I.E.L.D." Director and writer Joss Whedon is being credited with much of the success of the little superhero action adventure, and Whedon will go on to write and direct the sequel.

Tune in to the Oscars on Sunday, February 24th to watch the Avengers assemble to deliver some justice in the form of Hollywood's most prestigious awards.

The 'Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One' blu-ray set is back on (to be released less than a month from now).

They swapped out the copyrighted briefcase for a more generic one (note the lack of horizontal ribbing), and added a few extras (a short on 'Schwarma After' being among them).

Guardians of the Galaxy gets.... Yondu!  As played by Michael Rooker.  Even if you knew who Yondu was (I only kinda do), who thought that he would appear in a movie?

QuoteWhile it was believed only the raccoons and trees were left to be cast Guardians Of The Galaxy, it seems James Gunn has gone to unexpectedly extra lengths to get his Slither and Super pal Michael Rooker back on set with him again. Specifically, all the way to Centauri IV, where Gunn has cast The Walking Dead star as Yondu Udonta, a primitive yet noble bow-hunter who's also a founding member of the original Guardians. Yondu's presence suggests the film will find a way to link the first incarnation of the superhero team with that more recent one inhabited by Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana's Gamora, and Dave Batista's Drax the Destroyer, thus satisfying diehard Marvel fans and generally bemusing everyone else. It also suggests that Rooker actually had a good reason to shave his hair into a mohawk recently, other than the fact that he's Michael Rooker and he can do whatever he wants.

So they are actually going to paint Michael Rooker blue for this part?

Lee Pace will be the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy, though no one is sure which one.  So far speculation ranges from the Controller to the Collector, meaning if you're name begins with Co-, you might be played by Lee Pace.

Just to note, The Collector is an Elder of the Universe, one of several cosmic immortals who have dedicated themselves to a single pursuit, who collects powerful and unique artifacts, which often puts him in opposition with super-heroes or trying to trick them into helping him, seen here,

While the Controller is a generic mind control villain who fought Iron Man a few times seen here
